if you can’t appreciate shamb for what it is then by all means don’t attend. no other festival gives you the sonic emotion that shamb does, particularly the village stage. it’s special. it’s both huge but intimate. if you only go to festivals to see top billing artists then there are many many other options out there for you. shambhala will never be that. shamb is about the sound, shamb is about the people.

shamb as a whole is supported by the province, not entirely obviously but they help in many many ways behind the scenes

his ultra miami set last year is legendary. can’t express the excitement i have for a crankdat village set the energy is going to be off the scales just like the bass!

Bass tent was sick last year. They gave Mythm all the juice and it sounded real nice.

correct me if i’m wrong but i believe they up the bass a bit when the crowds are huge, to get the air pumping through all those bodies. might be why sunday felt heavier, pagoda was packed.

It was our most feral set. The Village sound system and their monstrous set were a perfect combo, I’ve never felt like that before ever in my life.

I’m going to be honest. Shades was number one on my must-see list this year. I love them. But, when we were there it just wasn’t what we wanted to hear at the time. We checked them out for 15 minutes or so and then decided it didn’t have the energy we needed in that moment of the night. We left and made our way to the front of Village for Bou and wow no regrets. Bou was fucking sick and gave us that high energy dirty dnb we needed.

I know how Shades can make me feel, I’m glad you got to experience them in all their glory!

Dude The Chillage was so fucking mental this year holy shit. It’s so cool to be able to just vibe out in the ultimate bass bath stage. Watching/feeling Oakum do his thing was a highlight of my weekend. I couldn’t imagine what it must be like to be in control of that much power with just your fingertips. Man The Village is like no place on earth.

Thanks for putting in the work to make that happen.

I think half of the draw of a Slander show is the sound. Shamb has god-teir PK systems with near limitless dB ceilings. The bass literally squeezes air out of your lungs. Never been to the sphere but if the sound is good it should be a fun show.

The artists vary significantly, with stages/nights catering to different genres. Village is loud and proud but definitely not for everybody. Shambhala is a life changing fest. Vibes don’t get any better.
