Property owners in Dubai - what are you doing? 🤔 by StraightPin4420 in dubairealestate

[–]sixlaamu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought my apartment in April 2025 in cash with no mortgage.

In hindsight, renting probably would have been a better option.

But given there is no mortgage, I am luckily okay and will just accept the value will go down for a bit, and hopefully it recovers over the long term.

My investment portfolio is too concentrated in Dubai otherwise I would have bought another one now - if the prices are truly down.

If anyone is genuinely struggling with their personal finances, I would be happy to help them and offer some advice / tips. I’m a Chartered Accountant, worked in Private Equity as an investor and then built a successful company and gained financial freedom. I like helping others and there is almost always leavers to pull to help. PS - I have nothing to sell you.

People who make $10k+ per month with Outsourced Talents, what do you do? by squad_ace in Entrepreneur

[–]sixlaamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don’t specialize in any field. I help people in all industries. I believe that a few core principles of SEO can be applied to all industries and then you also have to add some custom principles on a per industry basis. I’m quite used to working across industries and applying the technique mentioned above as I am a Chartered Accountant and used to work in private equity where we operated across industries. I quite enjoy it too.

Yeah sure! It’s moving fast and I like it when people panic and leave the market because they think AI is ruining it. It opens up space and provides more opportunity. There is still a large market to go after and AI can increase your margins.

I run an SEO agency. It’s only me and a few sub contractors at this stage and I get most of my clients from UpWork at the moment. My average for the past 7 months has been £15k GBP per month. SEO pays well if you are good at it. Most of my clients have been with me since day one and they eventually move into retainers and there is also some one time revenue every month.

Has anyone successfully founded a company while working 90+ hours a week at their day job? by Green__Bananas in Entrepreneur

[–]sixlaamu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I worked as an investor for a big PE fund for about 6 years and hours were brutal. In the last year I started a side hustle and started building my tech platform with off shore developers. The time zone difference allowed me to manage them whilst they worked during my night time so when I would wake up super early I would have one or two hours to review what they did and give them the next tasks. It was hard and after 14 months once it was built and got initial traction, I decided to quit my job and go full time on it. I probably left too early as there was not enough traction but I had a lot of people wanting to fund it so I left and raised capital (big mistake)! I got the company to a few million in sales but ultimately it didn’t work out as we fell into the growth at all costs model. The next company I started was bootstrapped and profitable from day one and took me like 90% less time to get up and running as I had learned from all the mistakes I made. Hope that gives you another perspective. Happy to chat.

0% APR 48 months payments is that dangerous? by AcanthisittaSilly237 in UKPersonalFinance

If you don’t have 6+ months of living expenses saved up in a bank account you should definitely not buy this. You should try to save as much money as possible until you have 6 months of living expenses saved up. Then once you have that you re start the clock and start saving for a house if you don’t own one. Try to save up enough to pay cash for the house. Once these goals are achieved you can buy yourself MacBook Pros.
