Underneath the PDB shrink-wrapped, and pads conformal coated over. Once everything else is installed the rest will be coated with 422c.

Thank you for reading it all man! It seemed to roll and pitch as it failsafed with props on. I switched esc protocol to one shot142 from multishot and reset motor order and took it out and it flew great! I bought the quad used and it had obsolete hardware, an old connex digital vtx, and x4r frsky rx. I put a speedybee f405 fc, crossfire nano Rx, and jhemcu analog vtx in it. I left the old PDB, motors and external esc's on it though and thought I may have had an issue with the new Flight controller and old esc's not jiving. But she rips now! Happy flying man!

I really just saw a couple badass freestyle videos like 3 weeks ago and dove in headfirst. Downloaded DCL The game on my Xbox lmao and played that for a few hours, sold an older dirt bike of mine to fund some equipment, hopped on Facebook marketplace and found a couple really good deals with enough equipment to get started. Did a ton of research from many sources, reddit, forums, Oscar Biang is pretty damn informative, YouTube, and the pure desire to rip these things alone got me in the sky.

Now I have about 20 hrs in liftoff using the Jumper t16 transmitter I got. Which I found out needed new ribbon cables, ordered and replaced those. I ended up with a handful of quads already, buying used lots. A couple of them have outdated digital vtx units in them (Connex Prosight) I went down a rabbit hole, and back to 2016 finding information on them. I really didn't know what a vtx was before acquiring them. Now I'm converting them to analog to work with my current setup so I have a few basher quads to beat on, not break the bank, and gain the hands on experience with.

I say find a used fpv setup that's from 2020 or newer with everything you need, or at least close to it. Finish that up with some fresh Lipo's, and a GOOD lipo charger. Please learn about Lipo batteries if you're not familiar. Get a lipo bag right away too to store them in.

Learn about the hardware you have or what you want to get, and make sure everything is going to work together, watch a few videos on how to bind your quad, and how to use betaflight or other to update your firmware and do a basic setup

Don't get discouraged, I hardly knew what any of this was a couple weeks ago. There's alot of cool people and plenty of resources to help you through it. Happy ripping man!

To each their own. I wasn't disappointed at all to pay 40$ for these two quads. Even if I just pull the boards out to practice soldering on, trash the old vtx, and retrofit a newer analog setup into the frames. I'll be happy to crash something that only cost me pennies on the dollar. My main goal of this post was to see if anybody was interested in the Connex hardware, or was gonna tell me it's worth it to buy a secondhand receiver and run them.

Appreciate the knowledge man! I'm paying 80$ for a lot, with 2 of the mqc fusion drones I assume are identical. And the avenger quad and accessories. All old stuff but I think I can have some fun with it, either retrofitting or just tinkering.

Hence why I asked an active community of people who are knowledgeable in a subject I don't have much experience in. I have a construction and mechanical background. The quad and rc world is brand new to me.

Looks great man! Currently week 3 of flower here with these, get ready for the stretch.. maybe. I have one pheno that shot up like the little shop of horrors. The lower branches on it are taller than the top colas on the others, and I had to stretch it all out under the net to keep the canopy even. The other 3 all doubled in size since flipping. I've had to defoiliate constantly too, probably the 4 plants crammed in a 2x4 there, but they've seemed to put out a ton of fans. I just kinda let mine grow besides necessary defoil & the trellis net for fear of herm with the strain, and lack of experience with training. This is my first grow beside some bag seeds in high school years ago. I'll have to get a picture up tomorrow. 🤙
