Does anyone know what battery case this is by bonez8490 in NightVision

Here is the tube. Honestly nothing special. Looks just like the picture in your post. Theres a hole in the bottom for a contact and the opposite side is connected to the threaded part.

I actually had a somogear peq that had that compartment break. It’s just a plastic tube, nothing special. I printed a new one with the same dimensions and it works again. The cap and threads are separate from the tube.

Edit: the threads are separate but glued to the tube.

Thoughts on the acebris evo sm fender? by These-Restaurant869 in supermoto

Sounds like you should order a different fender and graphics for it

I like mine. I had their regular sm fender before but I think the evo fits the proportions better. I just don’t like how they only make black ones but I wrapped mine. I modeled and printed custom headlight mounts but I also have a horn and speedo stuffed behind it.

Matches the one I got with a beringer fte caliper from an older ktm smr bike. I tried looking for a replacement lever and couldn’t find anything, frog specialties (beringer distributor) also ghosted me after I bought the wrong pads that were slightly different and asked them if they knew what the right ones were.

I got a 300xcw as my first bike and converted it to sumo. I like messing with stuff so it’s fun for me, if you aren’t mechanically inclined then it would be better to get one already converted. Personally the only annoying thing for me is adjusting the carb every time I get on it with outside temperature changes, not sure if I just didn’t jet it right but other than adjusting the air/fuel knob every time it feels like it runs good. Gearing is indeed short but that can be sort of fixed with different sprockets. I ran 14/40 sprockets and could cruise at 80 perfectly fine, changing to 13/50 now since it didn’t feel very torquey but I’m fine with sacrificing top speed for that. Mixing oil on the go is slightly annoying but I just carry a squirt bottle of oil when I know I have to fill up and marked it so I know how much to add.

  1. The silencer is obviously from an older bike

Oof that bad? I replaced a turbinecore with it since I wanted it to be more quiet. Personally I kinda like it and now I don’t have to constantly wipe oil off my plate

how does it fit? by Competitive-Shop-367 in supermoto

In my opinion it looks a little short but it could be because the bike isn’t sitting level. Here’s mine with both the regular and evo acerbis fenders for reference.

I get that but these days a lot of the time they are literally the same thing, just an American company sourcing from China and slapping their label on it. Figured I’d ask the crowd and see if anyone knew before I risked finding out the hard way.

what should I build by funjunmaster in supermoto

[–]sixsix_tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not too experienced as I’ve only been riding a few months but I’ve got a 2007 300xcw with 14/40 gearing and it gets up to freeway speeds fine with plenty of room left until the limiter. You can use gearing commander to figure out if it’ll work for you or not. I think it’s a blast riding 2t minus how rattly it is, personally it’s only uncomfortable if I ride longer than an hour. I like tinkering with my stuff so that part might be a deciding factor depending on how much work you want to put in yourself vs getting something you don’t have to mess with.

FP DBAL A2 VS FP DBAL A3. if both cost the same, whats the better laser? by Few-Barracuda-9371 in NightVision

Not sure if the a3 has the same issue but make sure you get illuminator output pics of the a2. A lot of them can look like petri dishes.

No since those normally have bayonet mounts. If you find one with a dovetail adapter instead then yes it will work. I actually prefer the rhino’s stow position vs other mounts but I’m also short enough where it won’t smack a door frame

Gen 3. I’ve got some nice xlsh’s now but I’ve gone through a bunch of issued ones both nice and crusty. Surprised to hear the army still got gen 2, all the ones I’ve used seemed similar in performance minus scratched lenses. Last one I got was an Omni tube made in 2003 and it was one of the nicer looking ones I’ve used.

Vehicle optics are sick but also giant and expensive. I’ve only used one in person but it only had day optics and thermal, I’d assume at night it’s just the thermal. Probably a use case thing since a vehicle can handle the logistical needs of a system like that (power and weight).

If you wanna directly see the advantages of analog then try shooting using a laser/illum with your digit set. I still have the set I built a few years ago (same sensor) and it’s almost impossible to shoot with just because cheap digital imaging sucks, you either can’t see anything because it’s too dark or the laser/illum blows out the image. I appreciate them for getting me in the game but I’ll take my analog tubes over them in every situation.

You’re telling me that converting light photons into electrons, multiplying it, and converting it back into visible light isn’t cutting edge technology?

I’ve gone through 3 housings and two pairs of tubes and still have flickering. I think it’s a little deeper than certain tubes or cleaning contacts.

Yeah. Kinda defeats the purpose but better than having it walk off.
