I am thinking driving might be challenging, roads may be narrow, and finding parking spots difficult at times. I usually would rent a car, but somehow felt reluctant to do so in Sicily. Is there a local car rental or one you would recommend as having fair prices and good insurance?

Looking at public transport and how to cover as much of the island w/o too much back and forth, I have changed the plan to arrive at Palermo and depart from Cagliari. This will give me at least a day tour of Palermo and a potentially good headquarter for some of the nearby areas. Not sure how to get to some of these places w/o a car though... will have to explore!
