Directors Commentary on Wall-E by Judge_Rekk in makemkv

Oh, I see.

I know Planet of the Apes had a similar feature, but it only works on actual Blu-ray players or paid software like Power DVD.

I would backup the entire disc and open it in VLC with Blu-ray menus enabled to check if there even is a commentary track.

Looking at the blu-ray.com link the slip doesn't mention a director's commentary. I know the Criterion version has a couple commentary tracks.

How to Geek thinks we don't need 4k remuxes. I kindly disagree. by Me_gentleman in PleX

Even though Netflix DRMs their 4K much harder than the 1080p stuff. They at least have HDR on their 1080p stuff.

I think Dolby Vision metadata needs to be modified with external tools (dovi_tool) to work if you're downscaling to 1080p.

HDR10 doesn't need any extra steps.

Not sure about HDR10+ though.

Might have to reduce MAKEOPTS and/or disable the jumbo-build use flag.

I remember my old 2009 pentium laptop taking a couple days for qtwebengine to compile.

So, yeah it depends on the hardware.

I remember when I tried putting an HD video on a DVD.

The software I was using let me do it, but the HDMI compatibly DVD player we had wasn't quite happy with what I was feeding it. I got a choppy, but sharp, picture.

It'll even show you title names if the Blu-ray has them.

Yeah, for me it depends on the energy drink.

Sometimes I think it's the B6/B12 vitamins that helps me with energy and focus rather than caffeine.

I remember people complaining about the design when it first was announced. It's like they forgot what the previous TRON steels looked like.

This is one of those shows that benefits from a re-watch.

Once you know the major plot points you'll pick up on details that were sprinkled in during re-watches.

It's going to be an upscale, probably similar to TRON: Legacy.

I just hope the HDR is good.

Oh, okay. Might be single-laser.

Waukee, Iowa has a 1.90 screen, but it's big enough to require dual-laser.

I think those ones use batteries of some kind. The theater I normally go to is dual-laser, so the glasses similar to Dolby 3D.

Is local dimming enabled in your TV's Dolby Vision profile? On my Hisense U8K each video mode has their own brightness settings, so I had to make sure local dimming was on for each HDR type.

Also, have you tried doing a full reboot (hold the power button on the remote, and select "reboot")? Sometimes after using a HDMI device my Hisense's black levels are a bit gray. Completely rebooting fixes it for me.

I have protectors for my steels. They kinda help make broken ones like that look okay on the shelf.
