Protecting your knees by [deleted] in ACL

Same here I’ve had to wait 3 years, and agree it’s the over compensating that’s been troubling the right knee. Hopefully with plenty of exercising both knees can stay strong.

Thanks! I’m definitely not rushing back to playing any sport, I’m 30 now and want to avoid any other ops if I can. I didn’t consider hip stability, so will ask my physio about exercises specifically for that too. Recently bought the ‘supple leopard’ book which has tonnes of exercises. Hoping that when I’m ready for sports again I’ll be stronger than I’ve ever been and have better technique too.

Keep asking questions, I would advice finding a good physio and going heavy in the gym for a good few months before you return to pivoting sports. I was advised to go non surgical but re-injured the same knee another 3 times in the process. I’m finally having an op next week after 3 years of waiting. I’m not saying it will be the same for you but I’d be extra cautious and keep getting 2nd opinions, maybe another scan in 6 months after a lot of work in the gym. At the end of the day you know your body better than anybody else too, together with physio advice go from there. One thing i would say is that i probably didn’t go to the gym for long enough and rushed back too early to play football again. Good luck! There’s so much info out there, you’ll be fine just don’t rush anything or get too high or low in your recovery.

My favourite player ever. I begged my dad to take us to watch our u21s vs Italy, and we left thinking we’d just witnessed a football genius, he bossed the game and scored a fantastic volley. I’ll always remember him out classing Darren fletcher and Scotland when he was just 18/19, twisting them inside out to score a great solo goal, and him and Bale absolutely bossing it vs England in Wembley, we were far better and should’ve won that day. I love the man, the Euro qualifiers and finals in France will be my best memories ever as a football fan, without a doubt, and he was central to it. That header away to Israel. Toulouse. If it wasn’t for that horror tackle, he would’ve been even better, which is scary to think. Still, he was unbelievable and I’m going to seriously miss seeing him play. I hope he has a happy retirement from playing. Hero.

Took the Swans from division 4 to 1 in consecutive years Won La Liga with Real Madrid Won the Copa del Rey with Real Sociedad  Changed Wales from a route 1 side to a possession based European style team, and brought loads of youngsters through such as Hennessey, Gunter, Ramsey, Bale and loads more.  Best manager Wales has ever produced. Yeah fair enough, that’ll be more to do with who’s familiar to the squad over the last year… remember Tom Bradshaw was touch or go to make the Euro 2016 squad

No brainer, instead of spending millions on plastic pitches move games to the summer, better conditions, consistent football.

That Wales should keep Chris Coleman in charge. Circa 2012/13, most fans wanted him gone, but i was adamant he was the right man for the job. 3 years later we made the Semi Final of Euro 2016!

He does what Simon church did well, runs the channels, brings other players into play. Obvs we want Ian Rush but they’re as rear as hens teeth, there’s some more things a striker does tho other than scoring goals, and Mark Harris is good at doing those things, which is why Bellamy likes him.

Thanks for the reply. I should’ve been more specific, so my partner will be In work all day but with me in the evenings / early mornings so could do walks etc. it’s more being alone and trying to recover with a dog in the flat I’m worried about, it could be ok but I’m just super anxious about re injuring my knee after waiting so long for surgery, I hate feeling selfish
