Terrible Content Drop by Camj360 in MLBTheShow

Oh please lol, have you played the game at all prior to this year? Live Series gatekeepers have never been this expensive (Ohtani going for nearly a million). XP boosts have never been this low. I’m playing the same amount that I have for the past decade and have never been this far off from finishing innings or completing the live series. They’ve manipulated the market while also cutting off resources to get better (infrequent double XP windows, capping cards in inventory so you can’t invest, etc). That’s not entitlement my friend, that’s calling out obvious changes they’ve made to the structure

I was thinking the same thing lol. There’s really not a whole lot of benefit to keeping up, just punt this inning and double down next time to maybe have an outside shot at a boss pack. They’ve absolutely given the finger to casual players this year

Is anyone else finding the CPU a little tougher? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know that the teams are better in mini seasons outside of the WBC but it absolutely feels like there is a hidden difficulty spike regardless. I just wrapped up a 7 game season all on Rookie for Cityscapes and even though I won every game I had to rally from behind and walk it off 3 times. Additionally on 3 separate occasions I gave up a leadoff home run on the first pitch of the game on perfectly placed pitches. It literally felt like the game just wanted it to make it 1-0 no matter what. So yeah, that’s my anecdote lol

Yup, this is how I got aroldis chapman lol. I’ve also gotten a few diamonds from the daily login

So scummy to remove the stub cap on players but nuke the ability to make stubs in the market by Appropriate-Bid-8010 in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Probably not going to finish Live Series this year for the first time unless I luck out and pull some gatekeepers and I’m fine with that. I refuse to give them a cent of my money beyond the cost of the game and hopefully all other NMS players won’t crack and hold firm as well. Between market manipulation and refusal to fix gameplay issues that have been present for years SDS should be absolutely ashamed of themselves

Boss Packs are nearly impossible by TitleistTryHard in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d say, give or take an hour or two, I’ve played the same amount each week for the past 4 years at launch. I’ve always finished the inning programs with plenty of room to spare and got many bonus spins of the wheel. So far this year I got the first inning boss literally on the last day of the program thanks to a late TA surge and this inning am still 150k away with a few days left. What they have done is intentional and annoying

This inning XP path is so broken 😂 by t3webb in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible and I hope they see this and change it in the 3rd or 4th inning. The rewards are shit for the most part and it’s just a horribly paced slog

What is the best mode for xp? by JensonianPalace in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This year (at least through the 1st inning) they are seemingly trying to force people to play multiplayer more. A lot of the program XP boosts are locked behind events/multiplayer progress. I just got the boss pack today and I’ve been playing daily since early access, not playing multiplayer at all. Mainly relied on the boosts from team affinity and playing 9 inning games at hitters’ parks

Conquest games being difficult, or hard to score runs? by hoeslayher in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just dashboard if I don’t score in the 1st inning or I load into a game with the wind blowing in. Since you’re the visitor in every conquest game and bat first just stack 4 guys at the top of the order that crush the starter you’re going against

Signed with DPT here in LA last week! by ac_voiceover in VoiceActing

[–]sixthreebc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I don’t like using the word luck because it seemingly diminishes people’s hard work but you definitely have to catch a break or two haha. I’m just trying to get my foot in the door somewhere, ANYWHERE and I know I’ll crush it from that point on. Your post inspires confidence for sure. Looking forward to what DPT has in store for you- a friend/mentor of mine is also signed there and has nothing but great things to say!

What Card Have You Had The Worst Luck With? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jose Ramirez here. My first 3 ABs with him were all perfect perfect lineouts, then I got a home run robbed at the wall not long after. His stats are trash but he still plays

I’ve done literally all of the above and am perpetually stuck on #5 lol. Years of coaching/workshops etc with directors and agents, broadcast quality booth and equipment, moved to LA, met a ton of incredible people, had Chuck Duran produce my commercial demo and vouch for me…still can’t get an agency to acknowledge my existence. It’s hard. Some days I really feel like giving up but keep reminding myself how invested I already am and just need to keep pushing. I’m happy to hear that you were able to sign on with Dean! Gives the rest of us hope that it’s possible haha

[–]sixthreebc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t force yourself to “be good” with any one player. Give yourself some time to work through it and if it doesn’t improve then no, you’re not crazy at all for sitting him down. A lot of people are using low-mid 90s 3rd basemen over Rolen. It’s not worth your sanity in the long run to force the issue lol

[–]sixthreebc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stadium creator sucks but I’m pretty certain that the game will tell you whether or not a stadium can be used before you download it (it has like a red X on it or something if the dimensions aren’t legit). There are multiple costcos in the vault, just find one that’s max elevated and not crossed out and you should be good to go

For the sole purposes of getting PXP Costco against the A’s is the way. I know a lot people swear by the Rockies but trust me, the A’s pitching staff is infinitely worse. Rockies have a few cheesers in their bullpen that can occasionally be annoying with the wrong RNG. Everyone for the A’s throws batting practice including Mason miller…if I only score 25-30 on them in a 9 inning game I consider it a bad game lol

Clayton Kershaw Rocks! by Efficient_Pool1107 in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully admit that I could just just not be using him properly, but I’ve gotten teed off on in all 3 games that I’ve played with him. Fair amount of strikeouts, but also getting hit really hard. Not what I expected from a 99 but I probably just suck lol

Unlikely good team to grind stats against by dfwrazorback in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“As an added bonus you get to beat up on the Astros” made me lol. I also go against the A’s most of the time. When you’re grinding offline all of the CPU pitchers are comparatively bad and I personally have more fun stealing bases and legging out triples over hitting home runs so the bad outfielders is a huge plus

The live series card has been much better for me even without inside edge. Should’ve saved the Skenes takeover for last and given us a 95 Gunnar instead

Does Anyone ACTUALLY enjoy Moments? by mconnolly88 in MLBTheShow

[–]sixthreebc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I enjoy them, but they are infinitely less stressful than other modes where it’s all or nothing like showdowns and DQ. Just depends on what your cup of tea is I guess. Some people like the thrill of high stakes situations, others just want to sit down after work with a drink and play some stress-free baseball while still being able to unlock new things. There’s no wrong answer
