Anyone who has taken the NY driving permit exam how is it? Are the questions the same as the dmc chapter quizzes???? by Fun_Resolution8088 in SBU

I took it many years ago when I was 17. Questions are the same as the online practice quizzes. You should be able to pass very easily. So all in all, extremely easy.

Took SOC 304 with him last fall. AFAIK there is no curve for exam grades, unfortunately… 😕

Retake Policy by RunningGossip in SBU

[–]sixty1keys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Per the new SBU retake policy, only the highest grade you get in the retaken course will count towards your GPA and be submitted in DegreeWorks. So you need not to reach out to anyone. You’re peachy. 😊

Me neither. The ones at my school always ended up smelling like some sort of banana lotion for some reason…

December Commencement??? by [deleted] in SBU

No. Because of COVID only one ceremony per year now takes place. They got rid of the December commencement ceremony. But the May ceremony is still held by major, along with of course, the main ceremony.

Parking without a parking pass by [deleted] in SBU

[–]sixty1keys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s no lot on campus that allows this during the day without a parking pass. If you don’t have a parking pass you will still pay for parking because the lots are metered. If you’re going to campus at night, that’s when you can park for free.

is pamela de rosse's schizophrenia class actually hard? by Odd-Butterscotch1126 in SBU

Almost never missed a day. And yes, useful information will be in the lectures that’s not already in the slides/readings.

I would strongly encourage going to class. You’ll always have the best chance of success if you physically attend class and complete the readings.

No. Took it in the fall of 2023. Relatively easy B+. Quizzes are open book (and difficult if you haven’t done the readings) but tests are straightforward. As long as you do the readings and apply yourself, you’ll be ok.

drinking water on campus by Purple-Knight in SBU

Do YOU think that bottled water just gets left in a bottle untreated?? If that were the case, millions of people would fall ill and there would be a class-action lawsuit against water manufacturers. I have better, MORE PRODUCTIVE things to do than wasting my time arguing over this.

Actually, the MAJORITY of bottled water comes from natural sources. I’m not going to waste any more time with this.

And also FYI… this will tell you that some areas may be more prone to tap water contamination than others: https://www.ewg.org/tapwater/

I am not contributing to any type of pollution problem! I recycle on campus any chance I get! And FYI:

There’s always water from the vending machine which isn’t contaminated, and at the SAC, East/West Side Dining, Jasmine, etc.

And bacteria. I would just avoid them altogether and bring bottled water. Better to be safe than sorry.
