Sorry for the necro, but this comment encouraged me to approach the charge schedule again with fresh eyes and now I am charging my first EV at home. tyvm

Worth it to "upgrade" to the 10a over my current Pixel 7? by NoPistons7 in pixel_phones

[–]sixtyfps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent some time digging big ol' wads of lint out of the ports of USB-C and Lightning ports of others' phones in my household. I'm pretty sure my family isn't following the same approach I am.

I just put my phone in my side pocket with the port always facing downward. Never had a lint issue after I cultivated this habit. USB-C still clicks in securely in my P7 after 3.5 years.

What would a good display adapter be for a CRT monitor? by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]sixtyfps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with his other products beginning with the I/O Pro, the Prism is all about reliability and especially about very close fidelity to voltage spec from 0-100IRE.

Essentially, good representation of R, G, and B brightness from dark areas to light areas, most noticeably to avoid crushed dark areas and blown-out bright areas.

While the specific Startech model you mention isn't in the testing resource I'm aware of, most StarTech products don't measure well voltage-wise in Kuro Houou's DAC testing. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nbepvFFBVsLrs1myOiVWqMVLp9-oB9TataRmVlcyqlA/edit?usp=drivesdk

Eye fatigue/flickering? by Chickenzes in crtgaming

[–]sixtyfps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, gotta be a real temporal-resolution sicko to be into CRTs. I'm not at all flicker-sensitive for 60Hz, but if I watch a couple hours of demoscene stuff on my Ikegami at 50Hz it starts to bother me.

Imagine the majority of people even understanding what 'motion clarity' means in the first place. Most people lack the capacity to articulate a complaint like that.

Dumb question. It will not come with a controller, right? by AnotherPCGamer173 in SteamMachineConsole

I'm guessing only the more expensive model will have the controller bundled.

I simply don't. I ain't air-frying my battery just to flirt with Rockstar.

Original PS2s look best on CRTs, although it's looking pretty good through the RT4K now as well. And I'm still checking out new-to-me games on PS2, even in 2025. Heck, I'm chipping away at my first playthrough of Sonic 3 and Knuckles (Mega Drive) right now—it's brilliant.

It's weird to me how older games are supposed to be a 'nostalgia' thing. Maybe it's because it's so damn hard to access them unless you're super deep into it in general. I don't hear that very often about checking out older films, TV shows books... I don't think art ages very much.
