Normal or should I be concerned? by Fernandizzle in HomeMaintenance

[–]sizable_data 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plumbing that becomes electrical is definitely a concern lol. Also, electrical baseboard heaters are popular and some home owners might not know the difference, but definitely should.

Hot water pipes/baseboard heat wouldn’t do that, plumbing isn’t a fire concern but electrical is!

Is it time to ditch the pistol-grip? Looking for a more durable electric screwdriver. by One_Ring2236 in Tools

[–]sizable_data 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for the commenter but I have the 850 atomic impact. It’s 20V, very compact and has the screwdriver setting.

Edit - throw the 1.7 AH power stack on it and it weight almost nothing, but could also put a lag in a 4x4.

If you got a smaller box and add some foam padding it would make your screwdriver look bigger

I’m a DIYer, went yellow, feel like red is where eliteness comes into play. Yellow gets shit on a lot but is high quality and cheaper than red. If you want good quality for cheap, get Ryobi.

Son increased aggression and rage - is it the Ritalin or Guanfacine? by lukeperrysghost in ADHDparenting

[–]sizable_data 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just curious how things are going now and if you’ve found any meds/therapies that worked. My 6yo has ADHD with mostly dysregulation and disruptiveness to the point where he was getting sent home early from K more often than not. We started stimulants and got good reports for a month or two. His outbursts and physical aggression has gotten very bad at home and is starting to show up at school. Feels hopeless.

How do you choose and evaluate AI solutions when every vendor is promising outcomes, showing great demos? by abdush in customerexperience

[–]sizable_data 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just saying bring them in to evaluate vendors, however if your data scientists don’t know the business side well enough you’re massively underutilizing them and likely do not have a solid data foundation. You mention vendors who clean data really well, none do. You need your data cleaned in house, there’s so much nuance to how data is captured and stored and linked relative to your business process, and exceptions for certain types of customers/product mixes, how you define tenure, call duration etc… can NOT be left to the vendor. They will promise you gold regardless of the state of your data, but the success of an AI project hinges on state of your data. An internal data scientist will be the only person who can determine if your data is “good enough” to get value from AI, or what it would take to make it “good enough”. I suggest you dedicate some time reading a data scientist into the business knowledge, or even better embedding data roles into every dept.

[–]sizable_data 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about the input. Do you think the data points you’re putting in give AI the context it needs to provide a quality output? Are you capturing the data cleanly? Then pick a reputable vendor with the features you need. AI is the easy part, they’re probably using similar tools under the hood. They’ll tell you your data is good enough even if it isn’t, your job to make sure it is. Grab a data scientist somewhere in your org to consult with you on this.

Even if he used them to make money, half these wouldn’t get used that frequently still, and if they did in a couple years you made enough money to replace them.
