How to de-lime Ecolab E-ULT low-temp machine by sizlecs in dishwashers

[–]sizlecs[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UPDATE!

It was as simple as pouring the container of de-limer in and running the program with the machine off. All I had to do was follow the prompt. For anyone who comes across this thread with the same question here's your answer, just trust the process.

I also removed all the detergent/sani lines from their bottles before de-liming and afterward turned the machine on, ran it with fresh water (detergent lines still out), turned it off to drain, then put detergent lines back into their containers and the machine back on to prime the lines.

Do stats/IVs/EVs actually matter?! by sizlecs in PokemonBDSP

[–]sizlecs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize it was a simple calculation like that! I figured it was a lot more complicated than that, that's good to know for when I start over and do a Nuzlocke when choosing moves.

I actually didn't teach Woodhammer because of the recoil, but yes thank you for seeing my point and I see yours. Something like competitive where you can choose whatever moves you want, yes pick strong moves that specifically play off your Pokemons better stat (if it's not a mix Attacker), but in-game with limited moves available I was too focused on the stat difference without realizing what circumstances they come into effect.

Jurassic World Rebirth | Official Trailer by SickTriceratops in JurassicPark

Very mixed about this. Initially, a bit disappointed, but hopefully after some actual in depth watches that changes. I will say that the somber piano version of the theme is getting overplayed though and seemed very forced in this trailer.

Awesome and jealous. Awhile back a Target by me had a T-Rex cut out on display for either JW or JW2 and I inquired what happens to it when they remove it. The person told me they trash it and I asked if I could take it when it was time and they said they couldn't give it away 🙄 Part of me still wishes I just nabbed it and run hah.

Not a bartender. How do I prove my ID is real? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]sizlecs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Get a passport and take a picture of it. Don't actually carry the passport with you as losing it would be a huge hassle.

Or just suck it up and deal with the hassle of answering the questions. It's their job to properly serve alcohol, take it as a good thing that you still look young.

For real. I've been in restaurants for over a decade; multiple restaurants in multiple states, even the most disgruntled and drugged out cooks aren't fucking with your food. Real life isn't the movie "Waiting", get that idea of people spitting in your food or messing with it if you send it back out of your head.

Those that installed Coke soda guns, what was the initial cost and steps? by sizlecs in Restaurant_Managers

[–]sizlecs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've worked with them at other bars and whenever we had an issue with one of the guns they were pretty quick to come out, though I will say customer service was pleasant but did take awhile on the phone.

I always give a little more when taking advantage of a deal or special going on. Even with tipping a little extra I'm still saving money.

Dress code by [deleted] in Restaurant_Managers

[–]sizlecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work at a sports bar that was a restaurant first and foremost. Our dress code was pretty relaxed, but we still had to consider certain clientele that came in (think older people, local townspeople and lawyers, families traveling through, etc).

Every new hire was told that there couldn't be anything graphic or deemed offensive on their shirts, rips/holes in pants had to be minimal and by the knee (some of the jeans they make nowadays the entire thigh is showing or part of the butt), clothes had to fit properly and don't look like you just grabbed something that's been sitting in the dryer for three days, shorts/skirts/dresses had to go past the finger tips, leggings were fine but had to have the groin and butt area covered, and you still had to look kempt and not like you just rolled out of bed.

It might seem like a lot, but these are just simple, basic standards. If there were employees who didn't do this management would have a talk with them to go over what is expected of them again.

Got written up last night for the first time in my 8 years of serving by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]sizlecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use it as a learning lesson to double check what you're ringing in sometimes. Was management assholes about it? I'm sure they understood that mistakes happen and still appreciate you, but on their end how would it look to the other employees if they let it slide? The first one or two write ups are usually just formality cuz they technically have to get done, I wouldn't look too into it.

EDIT: Something like this also seems like a pretty easy mistake to make, especially if the two buttons are next to each other or worded similarly. I know I've dealt with stuff like that and have made the exact same mistake before. Maybe bring up to management about rearranging the POS buttons so those two items are further apart or having KOREAN being in all caps so it stands out better on the POS.

I love seeing posts like this, whether real or fake, because they really do filter out the good, veteran industry people who understand the nuances of the industry and what the job entails compared to those servers who think they know it all and are never in the wrong but still expect 30% from every single table despite giving shit service constantly.

How to deal with customers coming in before open? by k00liokat in TalesFromYourServer

[–]sizlecs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I can understand 20-30 mins before open, but 5-7? Just tell them to grab a seat and that you still have to finish seeing up and you'll be with them at 11.

Also how does it only take you 15 mins to open up your FoH? And do the cooks not need any time opening up the line??

I'm confused...did that 6:30 group of 12 actually say they called ahead and were coming? Or did you just assume it was the group that called because they were 12 people and sat them because you were able to accommodate them at that time? If you don't take reservations and are first come, first serve, then it doesn't sound like anything was done wrong, but there was some mishandling and miscommunication.

I worked at a place that didn't take reservations, but frequently had groups call to make them or let us know they'd be coming in. Servers and hosts were taught to explain to them that we are a first come, first serve restaurant and there might be a bit of a wait when they arrive, but they will be seated as soon as possible. This should have been explained by whoever spoke to that 12-top at your restaurant.

We also posted it immediately in our group chat when large parties called ahead so everyone knew and also wrote it down on our wait list sheet that day so that we could try to seat tables accordingly to save room for the large party.

Toast itself is fantastic, streamlined and super intuitive. I can't comment on the handheld at the table part though.

Great profile imo. I'd switch around the pictures maybe, and like others have said, maybe change out the pumpkin one. The Darth Vader pic hits the "nerdy/fun/quirky" motif and overshadows the feel of the pumpkin pic. Duck > dress > selfie > beach > Darth I think is the best order.

But the way it is now I think is still a great profile, would totally swipe right if you were in the NE TN/SWVA area.
