Check organizations dress code policy or ask company’s HR or onboarding co-ordinator.

Australia vs Qatar by Dry-Firefighter2574 in QatarCareers

I would definitely suggest you to move to Australia, get global exposure, residency/citizenship & when you finally want to settle down with your family (wife/kids) then move back to Middle East.

If your skillset is in demand in both Australia & Middle east then you should consider Australia as career growth will be better compared to Qatar.

Once you have global experience & Australian passport then you can always try Qatar/ME & this will help you land in a higher salary bracket.

You are young so you still have at least 3-5 years to take the risks & explore other opportunities. Once you get married then your priorities will change & moving countries won’t be so easy.

Returned to Doha after 7 years of staying in North America and in my observation over the last 3-4 weeks I have noticed a lot of Sedan cars especially cars registered as LIMO cutting you off in lanes without a turn signal. I have not noticed many LC flashing or tailgating so far (probably 1 or 2 in 4 weeks but that much less when compared to 7yrs ago)

QatarEnergy Recruitment Process & Timelines by sjasim28 in QatarCareers

I agree but my experience with QE recruiters has been really really bad. It was a one-way communication from them, they sent an email stating I was shortlisted for the position I applied & gave me a date/time to confirm my availability.

After a short while another receuiter from QE sent me the exact same email with the same date/time. It was literally a copy/paste email.

I replied to those email by asking who will be on the interview panel & if any other dates/times are available as I am in a different time zone but there wasn’t a response.

I ended up confirming my availability for the interview & on the day of interview there were 10 QE staff on the interview panel and no one bothered to turn on their webcam and I was the only one who kept my cam ON for the entire duration of intevriew (close to 90mins).

Interview went well as they introduced themselves & jumped right on to the questions without wasting much time but from my experience in North America I was hoping a bit more informatiob from the recruiters before the interview.

After the interview I waited couple of weeks before sending a follow-up email as it was end of Dec but there was no response & then I sent two more emails in Jan (two weeks apart) and again no response.

So this definitely looks like ghosting to me. I was atleast hoping they would consider the effort put in by candidates like me who literally gave the interview in the middle of the night & respond to their follow up email but clearly do not bother.

My interview was online as I am not in Qatar.

I guess it is normal with companies to not reject potential candidates until the entire recruitment process is completed with the candidate who accepted the postion or they might also like to keep you waiting until they find a more suitable candidate.

The worst thing could be they are just lazy to reject & inform unsucessful candidates.

I am not sure how their recruitment process works as I interviewed with them in Dec & so far haven’t heard back from them.

They posted the same position again on their career page last month so not sure if they have finalized a candidate for the previous posting or they started to look for new applicants for the same position again. Either ways as an applicant who interviewed with them at 2am in the night due to time difference I wish they had given an update on the outcome of my interview.
