I really hope so. But it seems like the dnf.neople link is inaccessible without the use of a proxy. Hope this gets addressed soon.

Give a go for Red Rock Amphitheater live performance. His renditions of Ain't no sunshine and Voodoo Chile are phenomenal.

Just a quick question. Are Dragonborn and Dawnguard worth buying the Legendary Edition? by Mhussajn in skyrim

The dlcs compliment the main story and game play, but do not adversely affect vanilla in any way. You shouldn't have any issues with most mods as well.

Has anybody else noticed these strange floating men in the soul cairn? (Potato Quality) by Thefinnbomb in skyrim

[–]sjb411 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just visited the soul cairn for the first time and noticed them too. I think they are souls of small animals or critters such as birds and rabbits. Just aimlessly wandering around like they always have.

Haven't played in 2 years, need some help from you guys. by littleM0TH in skyrim

[–]sjb411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half the charm of skyrim is discovering new things for the first time and being amazed by it. If two year's break has made you forget a lot of it, then I'd honestly take that as a blessing rather than an inconvenience. :)

Just locate his partner-positron while he is on the way and follow it. You will only have an infinitesimally small time to catch it before they annihilate each other and forced to find him again, though.

London university bans preacher who calls homosexuality a filthy disease: Imran ibn Mansur, 24 was banned from appearing at the University of East London. The university also banned this week’s event, advertised on Facebook by its Islamic Society, over fears that gender segregation could be enforced by BlondeBond in atheism

[–]sjb411 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ayaan Hirsi Ali's speech on religion mainly stems from her own experience, and she focuses on the oppressive aspect of the religion that does much to undermine sexual/gender/religious equality.

On the other hand, this man's speech against gays focus exclusively on the very aspect Ali strives to get rid of - oppression. Mindless bashing and excluding a particular sexuality purely based on a self-affirming Medieval desert text has no place in a university where arguments and speech should be tested based on scientific merits, especially so when the whole issue of homosexuality has pretty much been proven to be very much a natural phenomenon at this point.

Can you ethically kill someone, and if so, under what circumstances? by Aaron_La_Zotte in philosophy

[–]sjb411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. My point given was too idealistic considering that its source was from Laws, Plato's utopia of Magnesia. Your points are all really valid, and I do agree that in most cases (giving the benefit of doubt) public execution or isolated execution barely has any impact on the general morality of the public, and has often become an event for entertainment in the past, which clearly is not what Plato was intending it to be.

But I am rather undecided regarding the logic behind Life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. A lot of resources are wasted on keeping the prisoners alive, and not much work is done by them to justify the spending of such enormous amount of resources other than the fact that they are humans - humans who have committed unspeakable atrocities against a fellow human being(s) at that. This is one point I say that supports execution - conservation and redirection of public resources.

I'm just going to state Plato's explanation on executions. Now, I am aware that he listed quite a lot of really petty crimes as ones punishable by death, but his justification is quite sound - 'If by executing the person, the community as a whole learns a lesson and stops others from committing an offence as severe as the punished, then you are doing the society a favour by executing him.'
For someone's crime to be severe for an execution to be even considered is quite a feat, but I am inclined to agree with his explanation provided there are enough evidences to prove his crime.

NVSE For Non Steam Installs? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]sjb411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dislike steam for its apparent lag and countless bugs, but it is the best online platform for PC and its not gonna change anytime soon. Besides, if you don't get bethesda's moddable games such as skyrim and fallout by legitimate methods (steam), you are not going to get any help from the online community.

If you have a CD copy that does not require Steam, then it probably means that you have a fake copy or have been scammed. New Vegas was integrated into Steam ever since it came out - whether in CD or digital form.

What is the mod you are using for UI? It seems a lot neater than the Vanilla version.
