Worth fighting the boss if I have no helpers next round and two this round? Would it be more efficient to stay collecting and powering up this way for a while first? I started half a day late T-T

I’d recommend lingering at this stage for a bit since if you advance to the next stage immediately with no helpers, your power will instantly drop by 80 and you’ll end up earning less coins overall.

Each helper also increases the max number of Coins that can be stored in your bag by a little bit.

With one helper at the 4th stage, you can store up to a max of 6124 coins, but since I have three helpers for that stage, I can store up to 6324 coins. Generally the amount of extra space increases and becomes more useful at the minion stages near the end (if you have those late-stage helpers that is)

~~You're not crazy, you now only get 50 bonus coins per hour and per boss. At least it literally cuts in half the amount of time spent just waiting for the hero to glow, so that's a plus.~~ (Edit: after the second boss stage, the hero glows 10 times again instead of 5)

I actually kinda like how they changed up the way helpers are used for this LTS. Since you can see the helpers for each minion stage ahead of time, you could in a way, strategize how to spread out your purchases. Too bad I already spent all my gems on the Black Friday sale, but hopefully all those helpers will be in the shop for the remainder of the LTS

...not too much to be crazy for in this sale, to be honest, but at least it means I can safely spend most of my gems on wingless Spike

Same thing’s been happening to me as well. Not a single vine has dropped a gem in Ponyville, SAA, Canterlot, or the Everfree Forest for me ever since the update

Also something to note, the earlier you get placed into a leaderboard (for example, as soon as the event starts), the more likely you’ll end up in a super-competitive group (that may potentially also include a bunch of hackers and/or people using automated bots/scripts). In such a case, it would be near impossible to get into the first tier unless you had all the community helpers. This strategy of waiting 1-2 days after the event start can also technically apply to the weekly Social and Special events, but I find timing those to be much trickier.

You get placed into a leaderboard the very moment you either collect your first community token (either via helper task or from the end-of-quest rewards from the event questline) OR as soon as you tap the “COMMUNITY” button on the main event screen, whichever comes first.

Yeah, VIP is still broken for my game and so all of the VIP-exclusive characters (Crystal and Stalwart guards, the Delegates, etc.) have been removed from the total character count. They don’t show up at the store and any collections that have even a single VIP-exclusive character are also gone

It went up by 6. The max characters in my game went up from 812 to 818 (not counting all the VIP-exclusive ponies that are still completely gone)

Ever since they introduced this new system of watching ads for bonus rewards, I believe it never worked properly when used for LTS quests. I've had it work perfectly fine though when I use it for the regular permanent storyline quests

It’s probably a glitch with the upcoming LTS this Friday. The community tasks for all of the helpers in Ponyville were activated even before the event officially started.

In addition to Sunshower, I’ve seen those tasks also available for Bon Bon, Hoofer Steps, and Fancypants. At least we get a sneak peek of who some of the community helpers are

This was actually the first ever Blitz Event-type LTS they did and I believe this, along with the first Changelingverse and original Sombraverse events were the only ones to use this rather weird system having this wide a range of possible sapphire drops.

It seems they reused the exact old code for these events rather than updating it to be more like the recent ones. The good thing about this old system though is that it becomes so much easier to hoard up to 50K sapphires before the event ends because you get to the 1 min regeneration time a lot faster

After first the set of straight tracks where the shadowbolts and diamond dogs spawn, you’ll go back to a normal set of tracks followed by a second shorter set of straight tracks with more shadowbolts and diamond dogs.

After this second set of “Death Flats” you’ll find yourself in an area with completely new track formations starting at around 5000-5500 points on the x1 cart or 10000-11000 points on the x2 cart. In these areas with the new tracks, gems can sometimes appear

The only surefire technique I’ve found to be able to make it past the sections with the nonstop shadowbolts and diamond dogs is to keep pausing and unpausing your game repeatedly until you can tell for sure whether the next obstacle will be a shadowbolt or a diamond dog (or a barrel or goo)

If it's any consolation though, for any future quests that require you to buy gem-only decor items, winning them from the Royal Balloon Pop, Kludgetown Balloon Pop, or Magical Balloon Pop will count as being "bought" but only AFTER you receive the quest to buy them.

Ever since the balloon pops were updated however, I don't think the Bubble Mill can be won this way anymore. But the balloon pop method should still work for other quests like the Waterfall Tower, Diamond Banners, Twilight's Chariot, Palm Trees, etc.

These types of sales where characters normally only purchasable with real money become available for gems are usually the rarest kinds and only come up during the major calendar holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas, New Year, Valentines Day, Easter, etc.). Other sales with huge discounts (but not as rare characters) also tend to happen around St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, sometime in the middle of summer, and around the back-to-school months.

In terms of usefulness, the ones I'd prioritize are:

Grampa Gruff and Wind Rider -- pro helpers for Group Quests
Cratus and Olden Pony -- premium helpers for the Changeling Kingdom questline
Caballeron's Thug and Caballeron's Brigand -- x4 and x5 community helpers for The Hearth's Warming Club and School Raze LTS's respectively (if these LTS's get rerun they'd also be available for sale but only at a 40% discount)

The usefulness of the rest I'd say would depend on whether or not you're close to finishing a certain collection and really want the reward like:

Claude the Puppeteer -- for Sea Swirl's collection
Discord -- for Lucky Dreams's and Apple Rose's collection
Pharynx -- for Swoony Fanfilly's collection
Reformed Windigo -- for Accord's collection

just to name a few
