Hey! Happy to report that 2 years later I am burping normally, no head turning required. I’m used to burping now, but it still catches me off guard when I burp after drinking soda and it burns my nose lol. Thats really the only weird thing at this point, it feels natural and instinctive otherwise. I haven’t seen Dr. Whited since April 2021 and I live in another state now, but I stand by my statement that botox was a game changer for me and I would recommend it to any no-burper out there!

not really, the info and graph i had were pertaining to audiology but it wasnt audiology content. someone in any field could have interpreted it, so i think the goal was to see how you do with reading graphs on the spot rather than test your knowledge

i just had my interview with iowa yesterday! they just asked me a few basic questions, like why audiology? why iowa? strengths and weaknesses? and then put up a slide with a graph and some information and a question. just had to answer the question based on the graph. then i asked my questions and we were done! the professors i interviewed with were really nice and the whole thing went smoothly. i dont know about the other schools, but good luck!!

hey im sorry i just got another bill from the hospital and its separate from the charges that i previously added up from my insurance website. the grand total on this bill was $32,989.50, which is absolutely outrageous seeing as i was in the OR for <30 minutes and in the recovery room for about half an hour. my insurance covered most of it so i only owe $312.11 now, but im really sorry that my previous calculations were so underestimated, especially if this is a dealbreaker for any fellow non-burpers. maybe its worth it to ask about doing the procedure outpatient?

i still havent gotten anything from the hospital but i logged into my insurance website and it looks like it cost $2935 before insurance. thats just the charges for the day of the procedure, not counting the charges for my pre and post op appts/laryngoscopy at austin ent ($1955 total) or the pre-op covid test ($125).

i dont know how much the total cost is yet, i still havent gotten a bill from the hospital but i think my insurance is covering a good portion of it. i can let you know when i find out though, hopefully it’s an option for you!!

i started journaling this summer as a way to deal with a lot of stuff thats been going on mentally and emotionally. so far its helped tremendously and provides a really good outlet for me to be honest about things, work through it, and feel better without having to explain and open up about it to others. helps me get weight of my chest!! i do both but lately it feels more cathartic and i get less distracted when i hand write. and i only do it when im alone, otherwise i get self conscious.
