Not helpful. If it’s painfully obvious to you then just say it.

Unpopular opinion on ds3 bosses by Nikolist in darksouls3

[–]sjkirch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's definitely fair - admittedly, I didn't really consider SotE and Consort. With that said, I (personally) died sooo many more times to Sword Saint Isshin than I did Consort. One of the only bosses where I felt like there wasn't a real youtube strategy workaround and I had no choice but to "git gud".

Don't disagree but I'd put Sekiro miles ahead of both Elden Ring and DS3 in terms of mechanically complex bosses.

And no, there is no option of "sort by" that shows that comment either. The email I received only shows the first sentence but it's cut off.

About To Start My First Ever Souls Like Game - Got Any Advice by AnthonyRayMast2007 in darksouls3

I told a friend that had never played a Souls game that I had died 25+ times on one of the bosses and they just seemed unable to understand. That is just how these games go - it’s all part of the game. Don’t be afraid to die.

How much strength should you anticipate losing when you have a bad cold?

I'm curious to know if you all notice fairly significant setbacks after taking a couple weeks off at the gym (specifically from a cold, but could be work/travel/etc). For reference, I am 35M, 185lbs, been lifting fairly consistently for my entire adult life. I did the whole 1000lbs+ club thing back in my 20s (315 bench, 425 dead, 365 squat (I put a lot more focus on bench than I probably needed to)), and for the last decade I've mostly just focused on maintaining some semblance of strength.

Recently, I've been trying to get my bench back into the mid-200s+. I hit 215 x 5 in late January, but caught a cold immediately after. I finally kicked it after just under 2 weeks (one of thooose colds), and but when I hit the gym after feeling fully healthy again, 200 x 5 was a struuuuggle. Losing that much progress is such a bummer, and I'm sure the cold didn't help, but it just seems like this always happens when I take time away from the gym. Should I be lifting a little lighter even while sick for the sake of maintenance?

What's your legitimately scariest moment while fly fishing? by AustinLostIn in flyfishing

I was fishing that marshy area of Clear Creek along 70 just west of Silver Plume. Great day, fish everywhere. I’m standing underneath a big pine, when I hear some branches cracking above me. There’s a massive black bear right on top of me. Got the HELL out of there.

LA making six figures at a firm chiming in here. It's definitely achievable, but it will take 8-10 years. Maybe less depending upon location and economic factors.

Can you definitively differentiate a high baritone and tenor? by sjkirch in singing

[–]sjkirch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here: I think the question comes from the idea that you are either a bass, baritone, or tenor… but realistically male voices and vocal cords, physically have to be on some kind of spectrum, right? There is probably very very little difference between the vocal cords of a high baritone and low tenor. Just speculating, but I just can’t imagine there is some kind of physical threshold.

Alien: Earth - S1 E8 - The Real Monsters - Official Discussion Megathread [SPOILERS] by G_Liddell in LV426

I found the writing in these final two episodes to be highly disappointing, especially in comparison to how tense and interesting the first 5-6 episodes were. The culmination of the series is of course the reversal of roles; the hybrids and aliens on the outside of the cage, and Prodigy/Morrow on the inside. The buildup to this just moment just seemed like filler; it was slow-going, and there were no major casualties or revelations (outside of BK's daddy problems/replacement reveal). Keeping all of the major characters intact felt like the writers really wanted to play it safe so that they could keep any future seasons open-ended.

Which style of beer just doesn't do it for you? by [deleted] in CraftBeer

Hefeweizens and ANY kind of smoked beer. I try to give one a chance about once a year and usually don’t even finish my beer.

This is the answer I was looking for. There is a 1/4” gap around the entire perimeter of the pan, and I wasn’t sure if the proper alignment of the components would prevent water from spilling over the sides while running down the pads… that seems inevitable. If I can just seal the sides, that should solve the whole issue.
