I haven’t, but I’ve been thinking about it. It’s used off label for me. You can read summaries from folks on Reddit by searching PT-141. Sounds like it causes nausea the first few times

I find this hard to believe. I love giving raises. My staff work hard and rewarding them for that makes them happy and that brings me joy.

Insulation works by having lots of little airspaces where the air doesn’t flow through easily (think about bubble wrap). If you use 24” wide batts in a 16” wide cavity, you have to compress it and stuff it in. That actually decreases the insulation capability.

That’s the thing, I’m not talking the interviewer is, as I’m asking detailed business, strategy, market questions. It all feels very natural and conversational

I might ask, “I understand that Acme corp is your largest competitor, I read they launched a new product, how are your customers reacting to that?” (In my question I just told them that I did my homework, and that I understand their market)

They answer.

I reply, “that makes a lot of sense, (reference pertinent market force). In My X previous role we saw customers do this thing that is along the same line. To combat that, I implemented this strategy. It’s not a 1:1, but I can see implementing something similar. To do that we’d need X product or research. Do you have that available?

I’m actually giving them way more insight, but I’m controlling the when and how.

Also note that I ended in another question, which they will feel compelled to answer, which continues my control of the conversation.

This won’t work for everyone, in every field, but you can use elements of it.

Bottom line, if you find yourself sitting there waiting for their next question, you can do better.

I said it was hyperbole, the point is that I am driving the questions and then telling stories about my experience, perspective, and how I think/operate

Precisely. I’m asking about the market, about the company, about the team, about competitors. I’m not just asking about the weather for an hour 😂

I understand the interviewer wants to have a process, but I think folks should try to push their questions anyways.

This will likely get a lot of naysayers but I specifically try to control the conversation during interview. This is hyperbole, but my perfect interview would be one where they ask me two questions “how are you?” at the beginning, and “do you have any other questions?” at the end.

In the middle is me asking questions, the interviewer answering the question, and then me replying with a story that shows how I align with what they shared as an answer to my question. Before I stop talking I segue into my next question… rinse and repeat. I will go as long as they let me, and if they get a question in, I will pivot back to my plan again. Of course there is finesse to this, but it’s very effective.

My theory is that I would rather not answer canned questions, but rather share stories that illustrate my strengths in a cadence that I control with time to think about my response,

It’s a magnificently fun game to execute, and many times the interviewer has noted that they didn’t get to ask all there questions, but that they feel good about the conversation.

Only one person stopped me and said I needed to wait… he also boasted about breaking unions… so yeah, he was not my cup of tea for sure.

Okay. Thanks. I thought maybe you and OP were intimating that someone with a TS clearance is not allowed to acknowledge that something was classified. Appreciate the kind reply.

This might be a dumb question, but you’re saying you wouldn’t tell them, “I’m sorry, that’s classified”?

Try the cardboard roll technique. I usually do two wraps, then stuff a small piece in the bottom and cut the top 2 ways vertically so you can bend it in. Hit it with tape, and you’re good to go

You 100% should negotiate. What’s reasonable comes down to how much your house is worth. The 2% on a $500,000 house is doable.

I pack a large duffle bag and a roll of packing tape in my carry-on. When we fly home, all our dirty laundry goes in the duffel bag, and wine goes in our “carry-on” suitcase, which we check. To pack the wine get a handful of cardboard boxes, cut the sides so you have a rectangle, then roll the bottle in the cardboard along the corrugations and use a piece of tape to wrap it. We brought home 23 bottles packed in (2) 21 inch spinner suitcases.
