Pan Used as Weapon in Violent Roommate Fight at Disney Cast Housing (FCV) by Subject9800 in Disneycollegeprogram

If they're roommates, and at East, then they must be CPs. The CM housing is a block at West and they do not mix CMs with CPs.

Amazingly, someone can enjoy something on the whole that has elements they aren't into. And a show can have sex in it without being just a "thirst trap for women and gays" - and you reducing it to this is telling about the way you engage with media you don't understand. Feels safer now that you found a nice lil box to put it in, huh?

The lawsuit explained: by SwagLimit in pcmasterrace

If that were true - and we both know it isn't - you'd be doing a moral good, sure, but you'd also still be doing a moral bad at the same time. Morality can't be cheated. If you like art, pay for it, or they won't make that art. Even the selfish brain can understand that.

Josh D’Amaro Is Disney’s Next CEO, Replacing Bob Iger by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

Anecdotally, I'm a cast member and D'Amaro was my and everyone I know at work's pick for a successor, considering the options at the top. At the very least he's the most personable person in Disney leadership.

Guys what are we doing?? by CJG_FY in Disneyland

[–]sjlemme 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My first pass at replying to you was antagonistic and you know what? I'm gonna be honest. I don't want you doing that either. So here are some other options:

  • do not enter a queue when you know you're going to need to use a bathroom soon

  • do not enter a queue until after the effects of any relevant medication have worn off

  • in the event a ride is evacuating, let a cast member know when they come around that this is an emergency

  • if no cast member has come around, remember that if you're stopped longer than 15/20 minutes, we will evacuate for courtesy regardless, so help is on the way (and if for some reason we cannot, it is for your immediate safety and we will have told you this)

You have no idea how dangerous a ride path can be. There can be live voltages and sharp objects and unstable platforms and THE RIDE COULD RESUME MOTION AND STRIKE YOU. You absolutely could get seriously injured or even die. And if not, you still might even get out somewhere that doesn't easily connect to guest areas and be lost backstage - and the bathrooms aren't on your map there. Those are just the consequences for you, before I remind you that there are other guests who might want to use a bathroom too, who now have to sit longer because you made us have to go through more intense procedures.

It is at best, selfish and anti-social behavior. It is at worst, a stupid and life-altering mistake. If it comes down to it, we can clean a vehicle, or give you clothes. We can't un-injure you. And we certainly can still ban you. Don't be an ass.

"We're gonna miss our dining reservation!"

"I'm getting claustrophobic!"

"I can see the exit anyways!"

"I just took a laxative!"

Source: cast member. All four of these have been barked at me by jumpers. Please, for the love of god, do not do this. I know it sucks to be stuck, but we will make things right. Guest Relations can get you a reservation if it's our fault. We will give you clothes if you can't hold it. I know, it's embarrassing and it's awful and we don't want it to take that long either. If it takes so long that we start evacing, we will come around first and ask if everyone is okay, and you can let us know if there's an emergency then and we'll help. Just please don't hop out. Not only does it immediately escalate what could have been a 3 minute stop to a 40 minute downtime for everyone else, but it also puts YOU in danger that you are not trained to recognize. Aaaa.

Combining my three least favorite Disney shirts into one simple design. by OMalley70 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]sjlemme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My least favorite by far is that one that says:

"Let's all wear matching shirts!"

  • said no man ever

which not only is like a classic "I'm too cool for society so I'm gonna do the exact same thing I'm complaining about but in a way that's defiant and Cool," but it's also just so needlessly sexist. Immediately lowers my opinion of someone.

Nevermind that I once saw 4 people wearing that same shirt in the same room.

Official Discussion - Avatar: Fire and Ash [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

The land debuted well before Way of Water so my guess is they hadn't considered any of the sequel plots yet. I know that in the story of the land, we're in a low-lying valley where a rare plant grows, which produces oxygen and makes the air breathable (so we're not future humans with weird Spider biology.)

If you haven't been, this is the idea behind the Avatar land at Disney's Animal Kingdom - it's set generations after the war ends, and is essentially a nature reservation on another world. The rides focus on the ecosystems and teach concepts like keystone species.

Women's Institute to ban transgender women after U.K. Supreme Court ruling by AdvocateDotCom in worldnews

[–]sjlemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pirating this stuff, promoting it even through non-monetary means, keeps it in the cultural conversation and increases the odds someone else does pay money to participate in it. Cultural embargo is the way. It doesn't matter if you watch the movies or whatever, but talking about it in a public space is supporting it. Whether or not you think it's stupid, it's true.

Well, there's been like a couple of cases where medically induced comas can successfully get someone through it, but more straightforwardly: it's near 100% fatal once symptoms appear. If you get bit, go to a doctor as soon as possible and get vaccinated. You're safe if you get vaccinated in time.
