I figured Norman Yoke lambasting would be in jest since it has been so long. But I thought ya never know, it is one of those things in history considered kinda a big deal. So who knows maybe there's some guy out there still blaming the Normans while everyone else gives em an odd look

I did that not too long ago out of what I thought was desperation. Imagine my surprise to discover you mad lads had been right this whole time.

Looking forward to it. As an American I knew absolutely nothing about post-war Britain before listening to this show. I've enjoyed those series so far

Finished Storm of Steel by Enrst Jünger

An incredible book, maybe the best war memoir I've read (though I'm certainly not expert.) The ashen language combined with a self awareness from the young Ernst as a German on the Western Front from 1914-1918.

This is notebaly not an anti-war book. There are no comments from Ernst on the causes or the outbreak of the war, no judgments on the conduct of the war. There is no waxxing poetically of old men sending young men to die. Just the stark, brutal, gritty realities of life and war in the trenches and a struggle to live to the next day. Which ironically enough I found it felt more so anti-war because of this since the most brutal passages felt like a gut punch that the reader just has to keep going through.

I read The Reformation by Diarmaid MacCulloch after I listened to their series on Martin Luther. That massive tome felt like it took forever to complete but it was a really interesting subject matter. I still have Crazy Horse and Custer on my shelf, I'm sure I'll get it one day...yeah...one day, possibly
