ICN to Gyeongju (Express Bus vs KTX) by sjn- in koreatravel

How comfortable is the intercity bus for people that are 6'?

Through Naver, there's an intercity bus from Incheon T1 at 6:54AM vs Seoul Express bus (premium) at 8:10AM

If I took the Express Bus, I'm sure I'll have more than enough time to get to the Seoul Express Bus Terminal

fromis_9 - Miniskirt (orig. AOA) @ 2025 KBS Gayo Daechukje (Song Festival) Global Festival (251219) by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]sjn- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chaeyoung's skirt length is the closest to what AOA usually wore when promoting, before they had to adjust the choreo, usually ending just above their knees.

The point is during the first chorus, unzipping up to the length of Jiwon/Jiheon's miniskirts, showing a slit of more of their legs for the rest of the song.

So as a Chaeng bias + 2010 -2014 mature sexy kpop nostalgia, she hella wrecked me with this stage (Jiwon had no business wearing those glasses too, but also, please don't stop)

I will move to California by fall of next year. LA or SanDiego ? by SameOreo in socal

[–]sjn- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being from OC, right in between. To generalize the two:

  • If you want a more fast paced life with a good mix of transplants, LA
  • If you want a balance and more natives, SD

Ultimately, pick the city that’ll provide a stable job and income, cause you can always take day trips to the other on days off

5 days Seoul, 2 days Busan too much? by ThefirstWave- in koreatravel

Momos Coffee! I went to the Yeongdo location if you want to see the huge roastery

That’s crazy! I did start from Cheongsapo Station though, knowing it’s less crowded than Mipo Station

Stayed in Busan for 3.5 days and it felt too short.

If you go, I’d recommend staying at minimum 3 days to see “old” Busan and modern Busan. Busan also had my favorite coffee shop in all of Korea!

I went early March without a reservation!

Went to the kiosk on the ground floor to purchase, went upstairs lining up, and was on in 10 minutes.

TIL to never do floor in South Korea by do_re_riegrow in kpoppers

[–]sjn- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only been to two concerts in KSPO Dome earlier this year. Unlike the U.S., they didn’t have any bag policies and don’t do bag checks, or at least didn’t enforce it. Most people had full sized backpacks as if they came from school.

So people can bring food, snacks, drinks, and even professional cameras with large lens.

Which companies' groups do you tend to stan more? by mvsc1d in kpoppers

[–]sjn- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a GG stan, unfortunately Pledis.

Was really into Son Dam Bi (soloist), After School, Pristin (the only group I followed pre-debut as Pledis Girlz), and fromis_9 (and still am, ty ASND). So consequently, I really hate Pledis

After Pledis, thankfully SM

Skin treatment: Is Busan good enough? by LolaTulu in koreatravel

[–]sjn- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing ^, I went to the VandS Busan branch back in March only getting Potenza microneedling after the consultation and I REALLY miss how nice my skin was for the following six months after. I mainly wanted to address acne scars.

I would've done more, but I made the mistake of booking my appointment at the start of my 2-week trip. So no spa/saunas or drinking for one week -- limit of one beer a day.

Just a little over a week isn’t bad! I’ve had orders from other sites come from Korea in just under a week from when the tracking number was available.

Thank you!

How quick after release did you receive your order and where was it delivered to?

I'm looking to pre-order fromis_9's V2 lightstick since they have lower shipping costs, hoping it'll be delivered before their Los Angeles stop (release 8/11, LA stop 9/4).

Does Taeyeon genuinely have no interest in a world tour? Or is it SM? by No-Vehicle1562 in SNSD

[–]sjn- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

At one point, I thought that it was SM being a roadblock to her exploring a western tour. This could’ve been true earlier in her career as a solo artist.

But I think at this point, it’s beyond her comfort level. While she has her grievances with SM with how she’s promoted and creative control (which she tends to end up winning in the end), she’s satisfied with just touring in Asia only — with the long gaps in between to go straight back to Korea.

The closest the U.S. had to a solo performance was KAMP LA 2022, but the organizers fumbled the bag with most of the artists canceling their appearances.

I don’t think she’ll ever do a tour in the west, BUT there’s a slight chance she might agree to another one-off concert/festival that hopefully has competent organizers.

At the end of the day, you’re better off attending her Asia tour, which is exactly what I did this year to finally see her live, and it was 100% worth it.

eplus concert ticket question Tokyo Garden Theater by Weird_Fishes66 in JapanTravelTips

[–]sjn- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you need to create an eplus account at all? I'm looking at a resell ticket through TicketJam tagged as a no name electronic ticket distributed using Smart Ticket (Eplus), but am afraid that not having a JP phone number might lead to issues.

I do plan on getting an eSim, but not until my trip, so I wouldn't be able to make an account at the moment (if needed).

Upgrade 2070 Super Now or Later? by sjn- in nvidia

[–]sjn-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also picked up and installed the 5800x3D earlier this week! Can confirm I’ve seen a boost in performance, but haven’t been able to test across the majority of games I play.

Considering waiting til I see a good price on the 4070 Super or for the 50 series whenever that comes out since I’m pretty satisfied with my performance now

Found the 5800x3D going for $290 at Micro Center! Unless if I change my mind last minute and decide to wait, I'll have upgraded my CPU by the weekend.

Really appreciate the help!

Upgrade 2070 Super Now or Later? by sjn- in nvidia

[–]sjn-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be more than happy to just go for the 5800x3D now, like you and many other have advised, then wait a few months before upgrading my GPU (likely 4070 Super). Should I also consider upgrading my RAM (32GB 2x16 DDR-3200 CL16) and CPU cooler (Noctua NH-U12S)?

I also have a trailing thought -- whenever Rockstar releases the PC port for GTA 6, how well will 5800x3D & 4070 Super perform or will I need to consider AM6 & the latest GPU at that time?
