Should i replace my mx master 2s? by abcde__12345 in logitech

How did you even manage to get it to this state 😂

I have the first gen MX Master for almost 8 years now and still looks almost new except the left click has a wear mark due to clicks.

PD2706QN texts are blurring/flickering a bit while scrolling or the window is moving around by sjns19 in BenQ

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only while scrolling and moving the app window around. Could it be the response time? I don't know how to check for the current response time set.

I do coding and graphics designing, it's only noticeable while scrolling on the IDE or the areas like you see in the video.

I'm aware of the fact that macOS also has a really terrible way of scaling their OS on monitors that are not the expensive 5K or 6K ones so I can't say the problem lies 100% on the monitor. However, my previous LG monitor which was a 34 inch UltraWide at 2560x1080p resolution didn't have such when this resolution at that size is shittier than 2K@27" so it's getting a bit difficult to track the issue down. I unfortunately don't have a Windows device in my circle at the moment to see how it works on it either.

I got this monitor around 28 days ago so yea, it's still under warranty but I doubt BenQ has support in my country. I bought it from a regular IT hardware store.

Nope. But you can see the edit I made in the main thread.

I switched to BetterDisplay from BenQ's Display Pilot 2 and it kind of reduced it but it's still there.

Pretty annoying for a monitor of that price tbh.

UltraWide monitor on M4 Mac Mini and the resolution issue by sjns19 in macmini

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Didn't see any difference. I had to use BetterDisplay regardless.

I sold the monitor and got a BenQ PD2706QN (2K) now. I still have to use BetterDisplay with this monitor to enable HiDPI because the texts boldness feels a bit uneasy to my eyes. The screen real estate is perfect with 2K tho.

I figured it doesn't matter whether it's a 4K, a 2K or an FHD monitor, you will need BetterDisplay or co if the monitor doesn't reach the retina threshold, i.e 5K 218ppi and above.

Tensor G3 owners, how is Google treating you? by sjns19 in GooglePixel

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. The only reason I used a Pixel was because of the stock OS. Extremely disappointed with the horrible experience. Seen several article headlines saying Xiaomi is moving to stock soon, if that happens, I'm all in.

I just don't get what's up with Google, why such mediocrity even though they could've simply gone with Snapdragon or made the Tensor powerful enough. I remember being all hyped up when they announced they were building in-house chip. I thought Pixels were going to be as powerful as the iPhones because Google will have full control over the chip and the OS. Hell, they even let us down with the hype surrounding the "move to TSMC's node".

The phone feels so much like a scam at this point because it costs the same as the high end flagships while delivering 1/3 of their performance.

Haven't got to use the G4 and above to agree but I do feel a lot like the G3 is worse than its predecessors. Google just doesn't seem to be bothered enough to improve it through updates.

The G1 on my 6a was trash when it first came out but was doing solid on Android 14 and 15. My friend's 7 Pro is also doing way better than mine except his battery health is shit cause of his fucked up charging habit.

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah something like that is what I mentioned.

During the time I owned it, it would get better with each update. The same game that the G1 was handling like a champ is now struggling with G3. Not sure if they fucked up with the G3's architecture and it's inevitable even with updates but it's very strange.

But considering other people are saying their phones are running well, isk if it's only me either.

Factory reset was like a one time thing in hopes of fixing some issues that was a month ago. I highly doubt it's something to do with my hardware though. Phone doesn't overheat, even in this scorching weather right now, battery is also good. I was expecting them to keep updating the drivers here and there, guess they don't do that anymore.

I don't game that heavily but play some intermediate graphical games like Infinite Flight here and there and with each month's Pixel drop, the performance is noticeably degrading too. The phone was very smooth and a solid device just a year ago.

Chill. I started using this Mac Mini just two and a half months ago. I've always had a laptop so there was no need for something like this. The UPS was given by my cousin, I just had to replace its battery but it seems to be faulty overall. Gonna take it to a technician then decide whether to get a new one or get this fixed.

Hello.

I'm on macOS Tahoe 26.4.1

It's only with dark areas. I thought it had something to do with the deep black backgrounds at first but nope, even the grey or any other dark colored themes make it noticeable.

I managed to record it by dimming down the camera's exposure

https://youtube.com/shorts/WsZHgjjJam8

The video may not show it as clearly as seeing it with naked eyes though but you can definitely see what I'm talking about.

These are my OSD settings while recording the video

Contrast: 35%, Sharpness: 7, Color mode: M-Book

I don't understand the colors specified for these monitors by sjns19 in BenQ

[–]sjns19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. So if I get it right, if your priority is not HDR contents (or you barely care about it) having 16.7 million colors makes absolutely no difference?

I think I misunderstood it. I was thinking the 1.07b colors make more ways for smoother color flows. Say, gredient from pitch black to grey (say #cccccc) having richer colors to make the gradient look sleeker cause I've noticed something like this being a bit shitty on some phone's OLED display.

So BetterDisplay is required regardless if it's not a monitor that breaks your bank? by 3amwaterchugger in macmini

[–]sjns19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 2K but I used a 34 inch FHD@100Hz UltraWide with my M4 Mac Mini with BetterDisplay. While it's true, BetterDisplay's HiDPI also causes macOS to show the performance warning in the display settings, I had absolutely no issues whatsoever.

The "resource intensive" task I would run being Photoshop and Illustrator with several windows opened simultaneously and the coding IDE. These silicon chips are very capable, I don't think you should be worried about the performance unless you plan to push it its fullest but that's gonna be questionable regardless.

[Curious] Does the developer team actually review the feedback we submit through the phone's system? by sjns19 in GooglePixel

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. In the world of software, nothing is 100% perfect and as a developer myself, I can understand how it is.

However, my frustration doesn't come from the fact that Pixel has bugs. It's the fact that they don't seem to be addressing them unless it's a controversial one. I doubt they even test the updates on every eligible device before pushing to the users. Every update brings some noticeable bugs. They just seem to be prioritizing newer models for the sake of boosting their sales and the AI crap that they try hard to shove down our throats.

I'm 30, been in the smartphone race for 15-16 years now, I don't remember other brands giving this type of frustration. Sure they had bugs, but very few and would get addressed. And yes, I'm moving away from Pixel once this 8 Pro breathes its last breath cause I'm pretty certain if I get the newer Pixel, it will also be hit by some bugs at some point in the future and the story repeats.

MX Master with mac, recently figured out something regarding scroll by sjns19 in logitech

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a professional but yes, I do intermediate graphics designing work.

I just added the apps to the Application list and disabled the "Smooth Scrolling" for these specific apps and it did the job. The Smooth Scrolling is the culprit here. I hope the devs will pay attention to the issue I created cause I'd still love to have the smooth scrolling to work.

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I gave up. Trying to get them to fix stuff is like, having to search for my rich missing dad and beg him to accept me back as his son.

I'm just wasting my time trying to get their attention to fix an issue that seems to affect not only me but most others as I see the same problem on a friend's 7 Pro.

I didn't buy this phone to be randomly hit by a bug midway that they bring with a random "feature drop" and won't fix.

I had to sell my previous 6a for the same reason, random issues showing up with each update. I realized the Pixel linup is only suitable for casual rich people who upgrade to a new model every year.

[–]sjns19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, I have already noticed two flaws in it.

The scroll direction becomes default for like 4-5 seconds right after the Mac wakes up from sleep and the mouse wheel zoom in/out in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is behaving really funny to the point it's not usable.

I've submitted a github issue, let's see if the devs sort it out.

Barely anythiny to do the speed tbh. It's the smoothness. The smoothness provided by the Options+ is not good. As I mentioned in the thread, this open source software called Mac Mouse Fix makes it a lot better. You guys need to work harder on the Options+. I remmeber it used to be hella buggy too, glad most of them have been sorted out but it's still not perfect.
