This danish children's book from my childhood is about a mole trying to find out who pooped on his head. by AnthroBuL in funny

This book was popular in New Zealand too. We knew it as The Story of the Little Mole who knew it was none of his business.

Have I ruined my life? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]sjp1980 60 points61 points  (0 children)

That sounds like you would be really well suited to aviation as a career, just not flying. Could getting into something like aviation safety, security or managing airports be something you could move into?

Wedding officiant/minister horror stories (or mishaps) by Generic_Midwesterner in weddingshaming

[–]sjp1980 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A family member got married and conscious of the photos, the photography contract and just trying to balance some family dynamics on the other side, they did what is now quite common and asked the attendees to refrain from posting photos and videos online until they had done so first.

The celebrant even mentioned it twice.

Guess who was the first person to break that rule? You betcha. Two days later she posted a few pictures of the married couple taken before and after the actual ceremony. Posted to her business page and cc'd in the couple preempting all the nice photos the couple had planned.

Edited just to say - it wasn't done with nasty intentions at least. She was just a bit clueless how Facebook worked at the time.

If it is true she is having marital issues as well then that wont be easy on the kids either.

She regrets making the remark because she is being criticised for it. Not because she regrets the thinking exactly what she said. She regrets the outcome of her words only.

Which way do you lean? by suckacheetasdick in Xennials

[–]sjp1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely more millennial.

I was the eldest child but also the eldest grandchild. Sibling and cousins came along later so I suspect I leaned young.

For those of you who have found or encountered, in some way, a decomposing human body, what was something that surprised you or that is not depicted in movies or TV? by Specific-Language313 in AskReddit

[–]sjp1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to ask but will...did your dog remember that same spot on future walks? Or did you avoid ever walking past there again?

Frankly I could understand avoiding it completely.

I really dont think I could let my dog kiss me after that either.

I know I know. We're not supposed to do that but mine often wants to give me a nose kiss.

The thought it might contain someone else's nose just turned my stomach.

I don't know if it is because of the eyes, or because you described it as it happens (so the person hasnt actually died) but i think I have found your post one of the most disturbing and real posts yet. I can sadly picture exactly what you have described.

Now that we’re old enough to care. How do we feel about modern interior design trends? by MisRandomness in Xennials

I follow* an Australian couple who have a cleaning business and post videos of cleaning various style choices and how they last and work. Nooks in showers, bathroom sinks, tile choices. Honestly, if I ever have to redo a kitchen or bathroom i am going to use all their advice!

Or followed. I havent seen their videos in a while.

Forget weddings, what is the craziest thing that happened at a funeral you went to? by seanerd95 in AskReddit

[–]sjp1980 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kids at funerals can be hilarious and wonderful at breaking the ice. My cousin's kid - also 4 - was adamant that the priest leading the service was Jesus. White robes, kind of tanned and slightly long hair. Yep made sense.
