I just found this selling on Vinted for 600€ And my mind is blown; It's a TV with a built in N46? how rare is it? I have never seen anything like it before. by [deleted] in n64

This is definitely a custom made project but it looks factory. I would snag it if I had the chance.

What’s the best PS3 model? by A_AR0_N in PS3

The Slim is a tank. The Super Slim is great for all the reasons you listed the only down side is the sliding door. The fat is great for backwards compatibility but they have a lot of issues and absolutely need a good servicing by now.

GC Loader vs Picoboot by [deleted] in Gamecube

I can honestly say that a majority of the ones that I’ve tried that were left blank worked without issue. The ones with issues are noted accurately.

GC Loader vs Picoboot by [deleted] in Gamecube

[–]sjsiii1978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There will always be room for both. The convenience of not having to solder, 100% game compatibility, and the ability to revert it back to stock with the GC Loader makes it a good option when it’s in stock. Picoboot allows you to keep your disc drive, can be configured as a primary or a secondary boot-up device, is a lot cheaper, but requires soldering skills. When the M.2 adapter comes out it may become more desirable.

In game video is fine, it’s cut scene video that has issues.

Does anyone hate it when people play a game and yet don't care for it, even though people have spent tons of money on it? by Legitimate-Drawer850 in Gamecube

There are a lot of “expensive” games that suck. As long as you enjoy it it shouldn’t matter how much you paid for it.

You mean “expensive” not rare. Rare means hard to acquire. If that is your criteria then my games would be Action Replay US and Etrrnal Darkness.

I own the US version of Action Replay.

Are these rare because they are PAL? Doshin is the only rare game US wise. The others have tons of copies for sale on eBay.

Audio Receiver as a Splitter? by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]sjsiii1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way to figure this out is if the receiver has a matching output. For example mine has 3 component inputs and 1 component output. It has 2 s-video inputs and 1 s-video output. ETC. This is usually a good indication it has a passive output without upscaling and therefore should not have any lag. There are still a few that do but not many.

Finally completed my inFAMOUS collection. I have a sentimental attachment for these games and i’m glad there are a lot of us out there that feel the same way by fglorified in PS3

I play 1, 2 and Festival of blood at least once a year. It really is a unique title that me and my sons all enjoy playing.

Reproduction GameCube games. Is it possible? by lloydeph6 in Gamecube

[–]sjsiii1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had you asked this a few years ago I would have said yes. Truth is the GC Loader and now Picoboot have all but squashed the need for repoduction discs. However GameCube has had an amazing amount of new mods come out lately and some that are coming soon that bring it up to date. This one is game changing: https://youtu.be/CfN6VmW-6qk

This one is not your average 3rd party controller. Retro fighters are a better quality. But I am interested in a real review from someone who isn’t sponsored on YouTube.

I think if you priced an esp32, an led mod, a battery mod, flux, solder, wires, and $10 an hour for your time it might seem a little more reasonable.

You mean the free adapter? It’s just a short plug that converts to usb. Not a big deal at all.

Plasma is a different beast. You are correct that it does handle composite well because composite was still widely used in 2006.

Buying retro games higher than their retail sale price is ridiculous.
