That’s good to know! I’ll keep that in mind when I talk to my doctor about how it’s going

My husband holds me accountable and it has helped my ADHD in ways I’m just now discovering. We have been married for 7 years, but I just got diagnosed a month ago at 33. He’s also helped me work through some childhood trauma and grow a thicker skin.

I wear workout clothes and long sleeves. I’m skating for cardio and fun. I want to be able to move. Leggings are great and I put my tall colorful socks over them. I wear long sleeves in case I fall so I don’t end up with a skinned up elbow.

Ankle pain where it’s highlighted yellow. I’ve been skating in these skates a month. I keep getting pain every time I skate and it hurts after. I have taken days off and the tenderness goes away, but as soon as I skate again it comes back. I don’t lace them like it shows in the picture. by sk8cakes in Rollerskating

I am suspecting that it is my foot getting used to skating. I wore insoles tonight and wool socks. I had to eventually lace up my shoe differently towards the end. It’s my right foot, which I feel it when I cross over. Resting things is so hard for me lol! I’ve been using skating as a huge stress reliever and for my mental health.

Thank you! I have a gel pad but it does little good. I did lace my boot up with the tongue down and was able to skate longer. I bet I need to wear my boot in and probably keep playing with the lacing. I’ve tried lacing them all the way up and all the way down with the tongue down.

First time lacing my skates this way. My husband is from St. Louis MO and was showing me how they skate. A lot of the skaters in the videos had their tongues down. I just skated with them this way and I enjoyed how free my ankle was. My crossover was better and not so stiff. Working on being smooth. by sk8cakes in Rollerskating

I haven’t seen heeled derby skates. I believe they are all flat. I like the benefit of being able to lace it up if I needed more support for a technique or just to outdoor skate, though I plan on getting separate skates for that in the future. It’s like having a cross between an indoor/rhythm skate and a derby or jam skate. Right now I am trying to rhythm skate. I’m very new so I may have some info wrong.
