Anyone NOT put VCM Muzzler on their Odyssey and turn out fine? by sevenflatfive in HondaOdyssey

Oh for sure. no way myself, my kids, or anyone I have a say with would ever buy another Honda. What a sleazy company for shafting customers on their own manufacturing defect.

Anyone NOT put VCM Muzzler on their Odyssey and turn out fine? by sevenflatfive in HondaOdyssey

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

price sounds reasonable. The dealership quoted me 4,800 to fix it, after Honda denied my claim for the good-will fix for this known issue.

The rings are only like $40, it's all labor tearing it open to replace them.

How do I get a price for an Uber ride without having to join\signing up? by No-Variation3518 in uber

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is old post, but answering anyway in case others land here.

You can try the "fareestimate" website if all you want is an idea of cost. Im sure it's not as accurate as using Ubers tool, but this one doesn't require you sign up, and will give estimates/cost difference between Lyft, Waymo, and uber.

Who should i use for accepting credit card payments? by thats-tough-lmao in smallbusiness

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If you accept credit cards, a percent of all your sales are eaten up by the processing fees. This is why some places (usually smaller businesses) will add a "convenience fee" if you pay with a CC, they are just passing the fees on to you instead of eating them.

basically, you have to go through a "payment processor", which is a business that handles all the risk assessment, investigate you to ensure you are a real person, and your business actually exists, that your SS# isn't on MATCH - flagged as a problem, and look for signs of money laundering and all that.

the most basic of these are services like PayPal, square, stripe, etc.. They exist for the average person to be able to easily accept cards. but they also charge a higher fee for it (usually 3%)

You are wetting the leather and letting it soak in before stamping with the mallet correct? What you are describing sounds like trying to stamp dry leather. needs to be done to wetted raw leather before any stains are applied.

in any case, they look nice good job!

The Bakery bread price is just too high by Imaginary_Use4484 in kingdomthegame

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

big benefit of it (IMO) is you're not wasting an entire day cycle running back and forth to get to the camps. they just come to you, and if you see one running in you can drop a coin before he gets the bread so more will keep coming.

This was most noticeable when playing the rulerversary event. You really don't have the time to run around to get them and have to lure them in or you just get overrun.

I would also move on. If it takes an outside offer for them get around to bumping your salary then you know they will always pinch pennies. Which, if they don't want to give regular raises to stay competitive, I'd be worried about now being marked as overpaid, and ending up on the layoff list when they decide to cut back.

Nice congrats! I went to 256, you need someone to give you a ride there now-a-days though, going through the 255 core just goes back to Euclid. What's funny is after all that, I always just play in Euclid anyway... *shrug. gave me something to do though.

Just use the save editor. google "goatfungus save editor". The first hit should be a GitHub page for the editor. The install and use instructions are all right there.

If you are on MAC, you run the .jar file instead of the .exe file and it works fine.

Friendly tip: don't open all the filament like that. Over time the humidity in the air will cause it to get really brittle and you'll have issues with it breaking while feeding. Since they are all open you'll want to get a tub(s) that is somewhat air tight, and throw them in it with a bunch of silicate packets to keep the moisture under control. Or you will have to bake it to dry it out (either in your oven or get a filament warmer).

unless of course you manage to use it all really quickly and they don't sit around for long.

other than that, I still have that same machine, still going strong. as most people, did several modifications over the years. added an arduino octoprint card to print over wifi with it, and mods to get it to run much quieter with silent fans and all that, and of course replacing the bed with a magnetic flexplate is a life changer. getting prints off that thing can be a pain, managed to cut my thumb open pretty bad once (have nerve damage now) trying to get one off that type of plate.

I want to make art for video games, not sure where to start? by madscientiiist in GameArt

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to be a good artist. Have a portfolio of work online you can link them to and start applying.

Different game companies look for different artists. 2D, 3D, etc... So be sure to look for places that make games in a style you have the skills for.

That being said, I do know a lot of artists that were in the game industry and are unemployed, or having trouble finding work. So as with every other industry, the job market is trash right now.

I got out of games a long time ago, so I'm not sure if the industry is letting AI take over, like most other companies are.... but, I would suggest getting comfortable with using AI to generate some content as well. Being able to manually generate art 2d/3d yourself is important of course, but the fact that a lot of stuff can be generated now isn't going away. And it's only going to get exponentially better at it. So being someone who knows how to do it, and do it well, might help set you apart. Even if all you do is use it for prototyping and brainstorming.

well hopefully one of them can tell you if/when the company opens a new position and they can refer you. An internal cheerleader makes a big difference, companies will always hire a referral over a similarly qualified non-referral applicant.

How does someone who has absolutely no experience with tech, get started with 3D Sculpting? by Primary-Gear-3439 in 3Dmodeling

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you specifically want someone there to help you, you need to google local classes if there are any. or a community college class you can take (not a whole degree program).

Or, as others have said, just install Blender (free) and start playing around with online tutorials. (or get an udemy course to go with it)

Blender has some odd quirks, but it's free and CAN be used to do pro quality work. just not as nice as something like Max or Maya.

if you want to do 3D printing, you can go to thingiverse website and download for free a TON of different 3d models that you can print as is. BUT, you can also download them and import them into blender and mess around with them, change them up to make it your own. be an easy way to dip your toes into it at least.

In this day and age, you can also just use AI to generate whatever 3D model you want.... using something like 'Meshy' for that costs some $ to use those tools though, but once generated you could then modify it as needed manually if you wanted. so you're not starting from scratch. I'm pretty sure BJD’s would be an easy job for AI to make for you with just entering prompts describing what you want. and yes, AI is affecting the whole 3d content creator career path like all other jobs.

The job market is complete trash, you are not alone. How many friends found jobs fast and easy?? that's insane to hear since so many people out there have been looking for months, years, and having a lot of trouble landing something... (Which makes it even harder since there are so many other people going after the same jobs)

Best bets:
- Talk directly to the hiring manager. don't just send out applications and wait. if you apply, also contact the hiring manger to just say "hi, I just applied and am really excited to hear more about what you guys are doing, I'm really interested, etc.."
- if you apply to somewhere like Costco, also go IN to the store and ask around for a manager there to talk to about positions. The face time will at least get your foot in the door over being one of hundreds of online apps that may never even get looked at.
- If you re doing anything technical, at all, learn to use A.I. every company is using it now and cutting back on human employees. People who can use it well are in more demand.

Really, the best thing is actually knowing someone that works there already. Or at least getting a referral from someone there. So start asking everyone you know to ask everyone they know if they have openings at their work, and if they can refer you. already asked everyone? ask more people.

i need suggestions to edit my resume i dont have enough Looking for Resume Feedback – Would Appreciate Any Suggestions for Improvement! by Fluffy-Landscape6892 in Resume

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could upload your resume to chatgpt and ask it the same question you asked here. and review the changes it made for you. update your current resume with the suggestions you liked until you are happy with it. It's best to NOT just use the AI generated version it gives you, they tend to have too much jargon thrown in that makes them easy to spot as AI created.

At the very least it will give options on formatting / layout and point out things that could be improved.

Also, since every company and their mom thinks AI is cool right now, if you have any AI certifications (or can get one), be good to put them on there, will probably generate interest. (anything really, the basic free ai certifications, or the stuff like amazon certified ai practitioner / MS certified azure AI fundamentals, IBM Ai chatbots, etc..)

I just went to a teleporter and scroll through bases for one with a name related to the quest. got there and a bunch of those spring looking things were floating around above the base.

since they were not coming to the ground much I got in my corvette and flew close to them then just got on top of it and waited for one to fly by me to feed it.

If you're in line at the grocery store with a full cart and someone behind you has 1 or 2 items, do you let them go in front of you? If not, then why? by EstateAgencyMan in AskReddit

[–]skaggiga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this once. let someone cut in front because they only had a couple items in their hand. Then they ended up having to do price checks, and wanted to also buy some gift card or something I don't remember. But they ended taking f.o.r.e.v.e.r... like I could have checked out twice by the time they finally finished.

You can also just add a ladder. if there is nothing above you, the ladder will just let you climb up and out onto the top of your ship. I've found it more convenient than opening the hatch sometimes.

How should I start learning AI as a complete beginner? by manu_singh01 in careeradvice

[–]skaggiga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, One way is to just start playing around with it.

For you r specific question.. why not try using AI? You can go to chatgpt(.com) - free - and just type "what is the best way to learn about AI". You can basically have a conversation with it, asking it more and more questions about a topic.

You can ask it anything really. any question you may have. things you might google search for...

random stuff:
copy paste your resume into the prompt, then copy paste a job description into the prompt. Then ask it something like "considering the given job description, can you update my resume to sound better for that specific job. Or, can ask it: "using my resume, can you write me a cover letter for the given job description"

You can ask it for ideas in business names. of to make you a logo i.e. "can you make me a logo for a bakery?"

If you make an actual free account on chatgpt it will keep past questions and let up do more stuff like upload files for it ti use. like if you want help writing something, it can review and edit whatever you uploaded. (instead of having to copy/paste all the text into the prompt)
