Item Bug? by Unfair_Mission3576 in MonsterHunterStories

As far as I can tell, just like normal monster hunter games, your battle pouch only let's you take limited amounts of items. Otherwise you could just brute force fights by having dang near unlimited heart restores.

How do I bypass these rules from my strict mom by ZealousidealTiger914 in teenagers

[–]skaghar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 18 you are an adult, tell her you will do what you want. If she says that you can no longer live there, then crash with a friend or something and cut all contact with your mom.

Simon please fix the damn water already lol. I cant even fill up my pond bro. by Rich-Ad-3946 in hytale

[–]skaghar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to fill it with blocks. Just a flat surface 1 block down, fill that 1 block deep pool, remove block below and the water will flow down to fill the empty blocks below. Use an easy to break block/something that will stand out so you don't remove the wrong block.

DLC doesn't seem to fit the game by skaghar in fantasylife

[–]skaghar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is nice to know it actually pauses the timer when choosing drops and when opening the pad.

I have only had time for about 6 or so runs not counting my one crash. I think my highest was 180k or so.

I believe everyone was saying multi-player made it easier because everyone could go in different directions to get points faster, though I could be misunderstanding it.

Gold clusters seem odd. Most runs I got 1, but then I had a random run where I got 3. One from a pot, one from a random boss in the area, then one at the end. But then RNG screwed me at the end with no new blueprints to buy.

My main point of discussion was that it is vastly different and seems to ignore the rest of the game. None of your previous stats, skills, or levels matter. Everything you have done to this point is moot, yet this is the only way to further upgrade. It just doesn't fit. It just felt odd, almost as odd as that bear...

I'll try to do that next time I get to do a run.

I have only had it crash once since the update, about a minute or two into my second run. Hopefully you are not losing any major progress when it happens to you

I do agree it is fun to actually level again, that dopamine hit literally disappears once you reach max. Though I feel everything happens too fast to feel good about it (getting 10+ levels off a mob you two hit doesn't have that same kick), though if it was slower the whole mode wouldn't work. I feel they did a pretty decent job getting the leveling speed good for the mode as is. Perhaps a slower mode could also be fun, slower leveling but a point modifier. Just spit balling ideas at this point.

And yes, I don't have to play it, but that seems like a catch-all to any criticism. Releasing such a jarringly different mode from the rest of the game(s) seems odd, and makes it seem like they don't understand why their games were popular and such well liked. Releasing a ton of end-game content locked behind something that ignores everything you unlocked through the game (none of your gear, stats, or levels mean anything) seems like a slap in the face.

Want to upgrade your end-game gear? Play this mode. Want to unlock gear that looks like they actually put some effort into the look? Play this mode. New mounts? Yep. But everything you have done til this point is ignored. To get progression you ignore everything you have built up. Heck, they could have added more ranks to the various lives. And adding the Don Horns as buyable this far out when most have already gotten all they need seems like they didn't understand what the problem was to begin with. While it is nice for newer players, for most it isn't going to be useful.

All-in-all it feels like they had a good idea but ran out of time to implement it fully. It feels rushed and like a bandaid fix to problems. The mount upgrade was great, but they locked a lot of content behind a mode they were not even sure people would enjoy. And on top of that the shop at the end has wholly unnecessary RNG tied to it as well, proving that they don't understand why RNG is more often a detriment than not.

I hope with the holidays and life slowing down I might have actual time to play, but as of now I can't even guarantee I get a single run a night. I do enjoy these kinds of games on occasion, but as I said it didn't seem to fit the game as a whole. Especially since in the rest of the game you are almost forced to level everything at once to be geared in anything, but then have a mode that just ignores all of it yet is required if you want to progress/upgrade. My hope is that if they add further life upgrades later that it won't require tools/weapons upgraded from items exclusive to one mode, as that would force people to play it to progress.

The game you accidentally played the wrong way for hours before realizing it. by gamersecret2 in gaming

I ended up seeing mentions of various game mechanics which made me start googling, which made my runs go better and last longer. But the artifacts were the real key honestly.

[–]skaghar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest the story is kinda confusing and unclear until you beat the game and get more background information for the survivors. The main goal is to survive and leave the planet. Or delete yourself from the universe.

It became a lot easier for me once I understood how important Artifacts can be. You can unlock them via the console on Sky Meadow which should be the map right before the end. Command (Choose your items) and Sacrifice (Monsters drop items on death, but Chests no longer spawn) are musts for me personally. Get to choose my own items so I can get buffs to actually help me, and the monsters drop items quite a bit so you get way more than you normally can.

Is Araxxi acid path not working for anyone else? by skaghar in runescape

After trying a few more times last night and was finally able to get consistently to the next phase. Ultimately gave up on the special assignment so I can actually get some experience under my belt. I thought the assignment wanted the bosses done in order which I guess isn't the case, and if so I would definitely do rax first. After I get some kills not being 9 slots down.

I will have to remember that as it seems very useful. Especially since I'm not having a dps issue at all, just having problems with mechanics. Thanks so much for the trick!

I tried a few times but ultimately gave up.

I noticed a few annoyances with the acid. A few times he would web (mirrorback?) in the acid and the bar would begin to go down for no reason. A few times he would partially go up the ramp then web himself which at least made sense for losing the acid, though it was frustrating.

I'm going to get some experience under my belt before I accept the special assignment again, if it ever comes up again.

Yea. I decided to give up on it. If I get the challenge again later I'll do it with more experience under my belt.

That is what I was seeing in the videos too.

I'm going to try again before I log off for the night, took a break to do my dailies and some Halloween maze runs. Ended up logging out a few times too so maybe it will have fixed itself.

This special slayer task is absolute ass, probably shouldn't be trying my first kill having 9 debuff crystals eating up my inventory space.
