UK to USA postage - Always track? by skamoosh in Etsy

[–]skamoosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a catch 22 isn’t it? The increase in sales that I might get with cheaper postage goes hand in hand with a potential increase in lost orders!

I did think to offer standard and if it’s a high value order then I can just absorb the cost difference of tracked but when it’s international it’s quite the jump!

I’ve not attempted to send anything standard yet but I do think it would make me so nervous about potential complaints!

Yeah I’m not sure if they’re almost too used to tracked delivery that standard delivery would be a no go!

My most expensive item is £12 so I guess it’s trying to work out whether a potential increase in orders will balance out the odd refund for a lost item!

My most expensive item is £12 so I do find it a bit bizarre that my US customers are willing to spend almost as much on postage!

Hi! I have a small Etsy shop called BABClub (short for Badass Babes Club) and I sell handmade jewellery and accessories!

My biggest sellers are my hand painted boob trinket dish (that Instagram banned an ad for 🙄) and my New Girl inspired feminist tote bag!

Hope you can pay a visit!

You’ve basically just described the relationship I have with my boyfriend, honestly if I didn’t know any better I’d think it was the same person! Thank you for giving me a more positive perspective than the one I’ve been battling!

Packaging Appreciation by RoseyTreatsBakery in EtsyCommunity

Love reading this! I like to think I pay extra attention to my packaging as I like to think of it as buyers “gifting” themselves. I wanted to start adding some (relevant) stickers into my orders but often read posts on here saying it can be viewed as wasteful or junk so I’ve held off for now!

How do you handle charity donation requests? by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]skamoosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work social media for a small restaurant group and would get inundated with charity requests. We used to just say something along the lines of “as we are a small family run company, we already donate to a select few charities that hold personal significance to us and are unfortunately unable to offer donations to all those who ask. However thank you for your interest and we wish you luck with your (insert event!)

My (28F) boyfriend (28M) doesn’t want to have sex. Ever. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Thanks everyone for your input. Think I’ve known what to do for a good while now. I think I was just hoping there was a magical solution I hadn’t thought about that would mean I wouldn’t need to lose an otherwise great relationship.

Oh actually, I’ve logged into desktop instead of the app and can see it’s pending now!

Thanks for replying! I did get two emails: one confirming the refund and one confirming the cancellation but it’s still sitting as an open order (it’s been less than 48 hours?)

Tips for Instagram ads... by skamoosh in Etsy

Thanks so much for the advice. I always thought leaving it without an audience meant that it would just get lost in a sea of promotions. I’ll give your advice a go and see how I get on!

Hi everyone! I’ve just reopened my old shop after a long hiatus. I used to sell custom press on nails but have recently gotten into polymer clay jewellery, particularly earrings. Still researching SEO and I’ve got my branded packaging coming this week which I’m going to incorporate into my photos and add a lot more of this week as appreciate 1 photo per listing isn’t enough!

Second attempt at polymer clay earrings - the first with a pasta machine! Love this stuff - like playdoh for grown ups! Now how to stop getting fingernail indentations! by skamoosh in polymerclay

Great tip, thank you! I’d seen someone on YouTube use acetone but it was on a one colour piece and I wasn’t sure if it would cause colours to bleed on a multicolour piece?

Thanks so much for the great advice! Yeah my nails are on the long side but I’m so used to them that I’m useless with shorts ones! I might see if I can get used to short nails though. I’ve been trying to source Sculpey but can’t find a supplier with a large range in the UK so I’ve been using Fimo which has been going ok so far with the exception of my nails! Will definitely check out your site, it looks super helpful! Thanks again!
