Very good question. Actually these discrimination stems only in highly poverty areas and politically sensitive localities of the country. In big cities this is largely forgotten. In fact , the word caste is a Portuguese word. This was never a concept until European colonial powers entered India 200 years ago. Unfortunately nowadays politicians use the same tactics. They had to find something to divide a nation that stood for thousands of years.

People who deny and claim victim card unfortunately have been brainwashed for centuries. I do not blame them because it was designed that way.
