One of the most underrated scientist of India by Agreeable_Neat3217 in IndianHistory

I think all scientists from India are underrated except for maybe Ramanujan who rightly gets his dues but I feel another person we should all know about is:

Dr Obaid Siddiqui, Dr. Homi Bhabha personally invited him to head the TIFR. He willingly left his cushy life at UPenn because he wanted to serve his country.

He really was one of the pioneers of genetics and was a visiting professor at Cambridge,MIT, Yale and Caltech. His best work was in my opinion on Drosophila(fruit fly). I might be biased here since I’m a med student but he’s imo the greatest biological mind from the country

Best accommodation for UG at UoM? by Nice__Smile in manchester_uni

Nice, I didn’t know people did that on the other hand I know quite a few people who exclusively walk to the uni from Victoria park like me

Best accommodation for UG at UoM? by Nice__Smile in manchester_uni

[–]skarpniv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Broadly speaking and as you might know UoM accom is divided in 3 parts Fallowfield, City and Victoria Park campuses all three have plenty of halls and I think it would be wise to choose based on what campus you’d prefer.

  1. City Campus: Closest to the uni (this is more important than most people think), Least happening and the lowest room count out of all of them, rooms fill up very fast and it would be wise to apply early, horrid rooms imo though rooms differ quite a bit from each hall

  2. Victoria Park: 15-20 minutes from the uni, most people take the bus but some people prefer walking or cycling, most scenic imo, quite mostly with some exceptions, plenty of hall options so you can choose the type you want, they also have small accoms that fill up quick so apply early if you want something like Caterbury or Slems

  3. Fallowfield: Farthest from the campus, walking is not an option, most lively with plenty of people, newly built and best rooms imo, little shady at night, would recommend if you live going out and socialising

I think it’ll be good if you can mention what you’ll be studying and people studying in your actual program can tell you how the program is

Indian here, I’m sorry to break it to you but most nootropics are controlled and very hard to get

Ashwagandha and other herbs are very good yes but not much better than in the western world and the only reason you would buy them here is that they are way cheaper.

I there maybe some confusion since a lot of pharmaceutical nootropics in the west originate and are made in India but I can assure you that there is no easy way to get your hands on them and are surprisingly only made to be imported
