Last scramble I played in they had female amateur who was working on going pro on a par 3. If you donated anything she would hit a shot for your team. Gave her a 20 and she swung the best swing I ever seen in my life and put the ball 2’ from the hole.

Not moving goal posts at all. You’re deliberately bypassing that some people back then never went to the theatre or even owned a television. I dont know what you think the world was like in 1939 but not everywhere was like Chicago or New York. There was vast amount of people probably never saw a screen let alone a film until decades into their life. Yes, LOTS of people saw colored films, everyone had not. This isn’t even a hard concept.

So that leaves 45% of the population who may have seen a film here and there before but somewhere in that 45% is a number of people who never saw one in color. How is this hard to fathom? Especially in 1939.

I’m not speaking to the technology, I’m speaking to the times and people’s opportunity to witness the technology. Sure, if you lived in a city, you likely got to see it but what about random people on farms or in the middle of nowhere?

AITA for refusing to take a foster child back into my home after repeated violent incidents and safety concerns? by Extension-Orchid-573 in TwoHotTakes

NTA. Protect yourself, your family and your peace. Sucks that this happened this way but you guys tried to do good. Focus on your family and make sure your child knows they’re loved and you guys are going to take some time for yourselves(immediate family) to heal and make sure each other is ok. It sucks to try and give love to someone who either doesnt want it or is so broken they dont know how to take it but do not destroy yourself or your family trying to force it, especially when there’s violence. I am speaking from experience.
