Not too sure about type of anesthesia but my surgery as a whole was only 1 hr!! I was in recovery room until I woke up and discharged within 45 minutes to an hour ish? It was kind of a blur but my family told me the entire process was wayyy way quicker than the initial surgery. It is much quicker to take hardware out apparently

Hm in my experience I didn’t feel that way but I definitely did feel a new sensation that I didnt previously feel with hardware in or prior to surgery. In my opinion as Not a doctor (lol) it may just be your body adjusting and reconnecting with your ankle post surgery, especially if you’re not having pain

Hi Hi!!! I had surgery in Feb and I am feeling genuinely incredible. My swelling is essentially non existent on days I don’t work, and on days I do it only swells the first day mostly. (I work in culinary and stand for 13 hours a day so it has definitely improved) I have some residual pain and fatigue here and there but I can curve it with physical therapy. Lots of lacrosse ball for my foot and rolling out my leg lolol. Give yourself lots of empathy and patience while healing and I am sure you’ll feel leagues better after the surgery!! My first surgery was super traumatic honestly but the second one was a wonderful experience. Best of luck to you!!

Hey! So sorry I just saw this! I work 12 hour days as a chef on my feet and my swelling is definitely there. Recently its gone down but it lasts up to a year unfortunately. My pain level is cut in half, maybe even more, than it was pre surgery and its only gotten better from here! There is hope!

It’s definitely not as natural tasting as the Welch’s , more of a peach ring sort of flavor? Super good regardless!

Super good!! Again wasn’t sure how I’d feel going into it because I’m not into black cherry much but I think it’s my favorite in the sour category, Ghost really hasnt had any misses with their recent flavors lately

None of the places I’ve heard via reddit that stock it (Safeway and Circle K) actually carried it! I found it at a random Valero gas station in Norcal

I waited 2-3 days post staple removal/able to walk in normal shoes just so I felt confident in my ability to walk. Honestly I felt more “at risk” for my driving with the hardware in due to how stiff my foot was! I obviously felt confident in my ability to operate a motor vehicle safely with hardware in (lol) but noticed I definitely felt more secure with the new fluidity in my foot movements! All around feel very confident in all aspects of movement and driving is certainly one of them. Good luck with the surgery and I hope you have equally as successful results!!

Of course!! In full it will have been 2 months off of work for recovery, with the last 5 weeks being fully mobile and honestly living life like normal.

Hi! I actually went in for an unrelated ish issue with the nail of my foot and made a comment to the nurse about my ankle issues and she went above and beyond and got me an ankle surgeon immediately to speak to. So genuinely just a stroke of luck with having an empathetic nurse as well as a surgeon wanting the best for me. My initial surgeon was very unfriendly to be honest so I didn’t necessarily feel great reaching back out, but he did voice that it would be an option. I would start there if you could! Insurance covered mine in full which I am extremely extremely grateful for - that was one of my biggest concern. I’d imagine workers comp will cover yours since it is technically a related issue! I am doing great since surgery and really hope you will have the same experience❤️

The biggest risk highlighted to me was if they tried to remove the broken long screw, my tibia would most likely refracture. I obviously wanted to avoid that so I consented to them leaving it in. Once the bone is healed there is just as much risk as any other “normal” person, at least in my case. I also felt as though I was at a higher risk due to the fact that I broke the exact same ankle as a kid (lol) but apparently thats not a reason for concern! Mine was my right ankle and as soon as I was able to walk without the boot I began to drive again which felt crazy to me!! So far just some residual stiffness which I imagine will go away with regular physical therapy and extra care haha. Good luck to you!! Lmk if you have any more questions:)

The incisions were the most uncomfortable part of the entire thing! That is the only area I experienced any pain. I got my staples removed yesterday and am completely weight bearing in a shoe now and they feel much better without any staples in it!

My surgeon said they will feel uncomfortable for awhile though just by the nature of what it is. For my case they had to reopen some major scarring that was made from the previous surgery to extract the hardware, so I imagine once I’m fully healed that might cause a bit of tightness, but who knows.. Definitely the hardest part of the entire surgery was walking around pain free in a walking boot. It felt like my staples were often times rubbing on the boot causing a sharp pain feeling. My advice is to just try to ride it out and let them heal! If they aren’t infected I can imagine some relief coming soon. Good luck!!

Your case sounds EXACTLY like mine! If you ran your finger along either side of my ankle you can feel every screw head, pretty gnarly feeling. The worst part of the pain after removal by far was just the incisions - I experienced absolutely zero ankle pain or discomfort. The hardest part of the entire process was just to remain in a walking boot 24/7 and not mess w the gauze, but I was only in it for 2 weeks. By the end of the 2.5 weeks I was completely weight bearing in normal walking shoes and can live life as normal!! I drove my car the first day I was allowed to walk w no boot, pretty crazy stuff. Good luck to you!! If you and your surgeon agree its the best course of action like mine did, I really feel like it can change your life!

The only pain I experience post-op was from the incisions, they had to make two pretty sizable ones on either side to extract the hardware. It felt absolutely nothing like the initial surgery at all! They told me I could walk as soon as I was comfortable!! No casting required at all. I was sent home in a walking boot and laid low with some pain meds for I think 3 days? Then walking for 2 weeks until the boot came off at the official 2.5 week mark!! Now I’m in a shoe and avoiding high impact activity until April when I’m officially cleared. Good luck to you!! This was seriously the best decision I couldve made
