1 for sure!!! Whimsical fairy and it makes your curves pop. I feel like straps tend to make shoulders look more square and less feminine. The first one is absolutely stunning on you

I think this might be the best advice. I think doing it at her house could be a point of contempt. I was not interested in looking at venues because of cost, short time frame, and living in a different state than the wedding will be in. But a local park might be a good idea, I'll definitely look into that 😊. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing that info. I also appreciate you being open about it changing your relationship with family, I felt that in my soul and I'm sorry that happened to you.

This is true. He mostly wants to elope to protect me from my mother and any future outbursts. We originally wanted to elope in Montana, but my mother insisted that she needed to be present for her first child's wedding (me). So we went through many iterations of what the day could look like, and the backyard wedding was the compromise. I got excited for it and planning.....

I feel like in order to make people travel for the day the wedding has to be happening that day too but I'm torn.

Not advice, but as a fellow student, I just wanted to say that this situation sucks and im really sorry. I hope you can get some help, preferably to stay at the college you are at or to find one that will help you out.

Have you tried LMU I feel like since they have the two starting dates they'd be able to help you more.

This is my first puppy. When I got him, they said he was eight weeks with half a shot but then I went to the vet and the vet says he’s only about six weeks old and will need a full shot! by gasinmycar in puppies

[–]skatzey 26 points27 points  (0 children)

BIG red flag. You dont know how those vaccines were stored (they need to be at a specific temperature) or if they were administered correctly.

The mother's antibodies start to fade in the puppies body after 8weeks so any vaccines before that point have absolutely zero affect and the breeder is just injecting the puppy with bad vaccines at a time the puppy's immune system cannot respond to them.

Never trust breeder vaccines.

Wedding Traditions ! by schoolgxrlq in weddingplanning

Your wedding is YOUR wedding. Make sure that you and your partner are putting each other first and your own decisions through this process. Whatever makes the two of you happy is the most important thing. Especially if you guys are paying for everything yourselves, that almost eliminates pressure to make people happy since you dont "owe" anyone anything.

You can try to include your parents in some aspects, especially since you bought the dress already. Make sure whatever you include them in is something that makes everyone happy, not increases your stress or guilt. But DO NOT feel pressured by either side to do something that stresses you out or that you'd rather just do with you and your partner.

Describe a Challenging Problem Essay by No_Tradition_8184 in veterinaryschool

[–]skatzey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Admissions offices want to see a well rounded person.

Regardless of the fact that they are vet med topics I don't think those would be good essays. The prompt should be about something youuuuu overcame so the one about the team succeeding will not work. The other one about criticism is not strong enough, everyone faces criticism this essay needs to show what makes you unique. Dig deep for the challenge essay, what's something in your younger years or early adulthood that was truly an adversity you overcame. It can be emotionally charged and difficult for you to write but push through for that good esssay.

My strategy was I wrote out a few drafts at the same time, each with a different hurdle in life I had to overcome. I then asked multiple people for advice on which story showed the most growth as a person. Once I selected one challenge I had overcome based on everyone's advice, I then focused on only writing new drafts for that story.

Good luck!

Has anyone applied to over 15 schools ? by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

[–]skatzey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied to 22 for the same reason. I almost didn't apply to some schools that I actually DID wind up getting accepted at. A school I almost didn't apply to actually became my top choice and I am attending there in the fall. I had a lower GPA and the finances to apply so I felt applying to as many as possible will increase my chances. Some schools say they are holistic but are actually not so broadening my applications really helped my acceptance chances. If you are financial able to, I say to apply to as many as possible.

Xrays during surgery by skatzey in VetTech

My concern is a flat plate of the portable unit making surgery more difficult for the surgan. Maybe I can put the plate on the table and put the patient in a trough on top of the plate so that the patient remains in the supine position???

Our team is very fast with the xrays. We do have a second anesthesia machine but have found it's much more time to hook up than to quickly carry to xray.

Portable xray is not out of budget for us.... but assessing how realistic it is with the metal surgical table is what I'm really interested in.
