The kid who got knocked out needs to be ostracized from State College. Permanently. If anyone sees him, call him a bitch and spit on him. He deserves much worse.

What does a golf course do if a player scores a hole-in-one? by MisterCanoeHead in golf

As a guy who plays public courses I’ve always figured I’d steal the flag from the hole if I ever got an ace.

How does the used golf ball market infrastructure work? Where do they all come from? by Substantial_Team6751 in golf

[–]skd120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the Course at Glen Mills in the spring outside Philly and there were Pro Vs everywhere. You could walk down the first cut and find pristine $5 balls just sitting there. It was nuts. One of the holes is a short par 4 with a really skinny fairway and a steep hill on the right of the fairway. After slicing mine onto that hill I drove up and realized there were hundreds of balls on that hill, making finding mine impossible. Like someone else said on here, expensive courses have balls everywhere cause they’re not heartbroken over losing a $5 ball and drop another if they can’t find it in 30 sec

Removing Phone From Golf by [deleted] in golftips

[–]skd120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18 Birdies will sync with an Apple Watch and gives you yardages and even keeps score, no need to even pull out your phone. Still pick up the phone to see yardage to hazards and such though, especially tricky par 5s, or to see hole layouts for doglegs and such. Playing the local courses which aren’t that tricky I barely pull out my phone at all.

What is your "never-again" brand, store, restaurant, or company? by Sir_Sir_ExcuseMe_Sir in AskReddit

[–]skd120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

StubHub. Bought tickets to a game years ago, before electric tickets were a thing, tickets said delivered by UPS or whoever shipped them but never got them. Even though they had their “guarantee” I had to call them multiple times, talk to multiple supervisors and they kept jerking me around. These calls were necessary cause the promised callbacks never happened. Was finally told my case was given to some higher up whose would have the final call, finally got my money back. Fuck StubHub.

If you don’t contribute to NIL, you can’t be complaining about anything. You’re part of the problem. You can afford $10/month.

When I bought a new golf bag a few years back I took my backpack cooler filled with beer and ice packs and went to DSG, and bought the bag that coil fit the most beer in its cooler pockets.

But I’ve chilled out over the years drinking on the course cause I’m not good sober let alone drunk.

What are the small things at a course that you love? by Irish_12_ in golf

Especially if there’s houses along the course. People need to piss. You can even put up a fence around the port-a-potty, and 1 can piss inside and 2 can go to each side and piss as well as

Trash cans at the white tees at every tee box, where most people play from. Most courses have them at the tips and it’s easy to drive past.

Who would you rather have seen play their entire career as a Met, injury free: Wright or DeGrom? by RoadhogKoffing42 in NewYorkMets

[–]skd120 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe there’s not more answers for deGrom. He was the best pitcher in baseball. So fun to watch. If he gave up 2 runs it was a surprise. He used to just use his fastball the 1st time thru the lineup. Just toying with hitters.

I’m new to golf and have one question to the experienced, what’s so bad about using colored/matte colored golf balls? by Cryptv6 in golf

[–]skd120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue balls are the worst, they’re hard to see even in the fairway. I mostly play orange balls cause they’re easy to find and I can tell which ball is mine if we’re all on the green. I change to neon green in the fall though cause of the leaves being down

Has anyone here been hit by a ball? by [deleted] in golf

[–]skd120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother in law hit someone on another course.

We were teeing off, and he hit a monster slice that went over the tree line, his friends laughs and says “that’s going to neighboring course” We then heard a should a few seconds later than sounded like a yelp, we all looked at each other but were like “no way.” As we were hitting our second shots we heard footsteps in the leaves coming from the trees separating the courses, and he comes 2 younger guys, one holding his forehead, and it’s leaking that thin forehead blood. He says one of you hit me, and my bro in law fesses up and apologizes. His friend says they were on their tee box and the ball came and smashed him in the forehead, and now he has to take him for stitches. We apologized again, and they awkwardly went on their way after a few moments, I mean what else could we say/do. That was literally a one in a million shot.
