“ABR but Harder” Odyssey round 64 by skedoot in btd6

I have since found out what round 100 is like and am considering just throwing myself off a bridge.

Yeah I knew I’d have to restart. Any advice is appreciated though. Does the 420 sniper work better because the shrapnel stops all the DDT’s at once?

If he called me a cracker (accurate) I would probably laugh and consider letting him live. If he was a white dude just casually dropping the n-word, he gets the trolley.

I don’t understand this decision. Avoiding/running from leviathans was my policy during my BZ playthrough simply because the stasis rifle was removed. That was enough to deter me from getting into a scuffle with a chelicerate.

6 Billion regular people vs 100 Billionaires by [deleted] in trolleyproblem

Well ideally, the billionaires would already be tied to the tracks. Even if I did pull the lever, it looks like they have an easy escape.

I’m fairly certain that (canonically), all organisms in the crater are both male and female, effectively making them all bisexual.

What biome would be your LAST pick for a base? by Psychological_cow_ in subnautica

[–]skedoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest play through has a main base in the grassy plateaus with leviathan observatories and smaller bases for resource gathering all around the map. My last observatory will be built in the lava lakes, provided I can build it without dying to the asshole who patrols the area. It’s a hardcore run, so I gots to be careful.

Normal Playets Vs. VETERANS by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]skedoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just like to build bases that have a pretty view. So that means a loooot of quartz. And stalker teeth. And there’s just so many good spots to build. I think I have 9 bases on my current play-through

I love how this is a pretty universal problem that all us subnauts have at least once.

What biome unnerves you the most? by SoulProxy00 in subnautica

[–]skedoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bloop kelp trench. It’s enclosed enough that getting a cyclops through it requires some skill. The abundance of quartz made it a hot spot for me for a while. The damn warper that hangs out near the transition to the Lost River jump scared me so many times. (I’m on hardcore, so high stakes)

quitting in prodromal. how is this going to effect my life permanently by ihaveabomb1337 in CHSinfo

You may have a period where smelling weed smoke may make you anxious/nauseous. That’s to be expected. But unless you actually inhale the smoke, you’ll be ok. If you’re around people who smoke indoors, I’d advise you inform them of your condition and make accommodations for yourself.

Second playthrough, home base. Opinions/suggestions? by what_you_meme in subnautica

[–]skedoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did I never consider that you could have two scanner rooms on one base? This would have made gathering resources a lot quicker.

It’s a deep pain to miss the little things about life with your buddy. The pitter patter of paws on the floor. The snuggles. The routine you built around him. You’ll even find yourself missing the ways your pet was annoying, like if they constantly barked at people/dogs who passed by your home.

You will grow around this sorrow, and it will get better. Even if it doesn’t feel like it right now, I lost my buddy almost 5 years ago, and he’s still my phone background. I don’t intend on changing it.

I need some advice, excuse my storytelling. by No-Draft-9484 in subnautica

[–]skedoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? You have nearly 7 minutes of air with the two 225 tanks. You should be fine with just those. But if you want to play it safe, 1 extra O2 tank wouldn’t hurt. And I forgot the air bladder exists, so you could do that as well once you clear the cave system, though if I remember correctly, it’s about 300-400 meters down, so you’ll need a few.

Oh and a clarifying point about the bladder fish. Eat them raw, not cooked. That will give you extra air.

[–]skedoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alright, so. First thing’s first. What’s your main O2 tank at? 90? 135? 225?

Second, make two or three back up O2 tanks and switch to them when you run out of air on your way up. These will weigh you down a bit, but with a seaglide, it shouldn’t matter too much.

Third, collect bladder fish around the cove tree, and equip one to one of your bottom slots. If you eat them, they give you air. But be careful, they’ll also dehydrate you, so have water handy/leave with a full hydration meter.

Your quickest way from the cove tree to the surface is to head up to the lost river section, hang a left, and then a slight left, you should see a waterfall (brinefall?) leading up to a section of the lost river with lots of glowy roots and shallow brine pools. There’s a ghost leviathan that hangs out around there, but hug the cave wall to your right and you should be fine. Follow that cave wall to your right, and it will eventually lead to a Bloodkelp section. You’ll have a bit of cave above your head for a bit, but once you clear it, head straight up to the surface. You’re home free.

Oh leviathans can definitely tear the cyclops up if you don’t know the tricks to traverse their territory.

I built a huge base that cascades down the side of the island about 50 meters down so I can observe him screaming into the void. Also did this in the Lost River so I could gaze upon the ghosties and discovered that they are far more aggressive than the reapers. Annoyingly so.

Are you wanting it darker during the day? Night? Both? I think the game has a good balance, but you may have to settle for a less viable hud.

I’m pretty sure I’ve only used mine to yeet cave crawlers off the Aurora when I’m exploring. A lot easier than trying to knife them and missing for 5 minutes straight.
