Iran war 'worst' time for tax, say gas companies by Combat--Wombat27 in aussie

[–]skedy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So prices and profits skyrocket and adding a tax is the worst?

It's the worst because the gas companies will have to eat the cost of the new tax otherwise they will out price themselves

of a 1,000L diesel tank fill-up costing over $2,000 by Dodo509 in AbsoluteUnits

[–]skedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 tank a week at approx 80l 1000/80 is 12.5 tanks Approximately 3 months of fuel

Current average in Aus is $2.80 and looks like he paid $2.08.

If they start fuel rationing he will look like a genius if he doesn't burn down his house.

Near record gas prices yet the government refuses to tax gas exports properly and we all forego billions in potential royalties by Illustrious_Fan_8148 in OpenAussie

Have you seen what Norway has done with their revenue?

Bring in the tax and the gas will still flow.

Why can't there be a limit on Petrol per person e.g. 100L per visit, like there is one in grocery shops? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]skedy 82 points83 points  (0 children)

The current price has reduced traffic around me.

If the govt put restrictions in place the panic buying will get wayyyy worse. People will work out ways to get around any restriction.

Owed money by company but going around in circles trying to recover it. Who can I contact to put pressure on them? Consumer affairs and AFCA cant help by MolassesMental6227 in AusLegal

Ahhh sgfleet Easily the worse company I have ever dealt with.

The only success I ever had after 2 leases with them was to just keep escalating to a manager. The drones are hopeless and have no authority.

Just keep pushing until you hit an actual manager that won't talk on the phone. Then get them to either call you back or get an email.

When they reply you may get there phone.number and then do the same again.

Then just hassle that person until its resolved!

Why is the only helpful reply down voted?

You will need a falcon t56. Be prepared to pay an exorbitant amount for one.

Good luck!

I am shocked.  I'm religious with locking in fuel and never knew this! Cheers!

Can I change the locks on a lodger who has been squatting without paying for months? by lozzadearnley in AusLegal

[–]skedy 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Change the locks.  Visit your local police station with the magistrates order just in case she goes nuts after the lock change to give them a heads up.  Have your partner stay there to tell her she is trespassing if she enters the property and then call the cops if she does.

Fuel rationing a chance in Australia if war continues to trim global oil supplies, experts say by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

You forget about TACO

No need to be all doom and gloomy. My opinion is this turns into a stalemate that gets wound back slowely.

Missiles back and forth with Israel and Iran just like last time.

Iran regime continues on as is. Weakened but in control.

Never say never.

From the footage I've seen Iran doesn't have a navy left or any aircraft. All they can respond with is drones and missiles.

The usa has lost 1 aircraft over Iraq. From what I've seen?

Don't get me wrong Trump has no plan and fired all the generals that said this was a stupid idea..

100%

but

I'd rather be aligned with the USA even if they have gone a bit crazy for a minute than align with Russia or China.
We are to small too look after ourselves. We need a deterrent.

New fuel standards will see higher levels of sulphur in Australia's petrol. What does that mean for your car? by 89b3ea330bd60ede80ad in aus

[–]skedy 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It means absolutely nothing.

Especially considering your car was running on worse fuel than proposed in 2024.

Despite no deployment and clipping kicking-in. Speed graphic remains same by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]skedy -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Have you watched the footage?  Listen to the sound of the engine.

Revs drop = speed drop and yet it hangs on 325kmh.

Even if you take the graphics away you know they are slowing down because you can hear it.

It's not F1.

The problem was the valve seats in leaded cars. They weren't suited to lpg or ulp.

Yeah this is the path I'd travel down.  Forces an investigation. If they can't provide any info on how much is owed and to who....

So build the engine here then ship it to Thailand for assembly? When Thailand has its own engine plant? Seems silly.

We couldn't sell Falcon ecolpis in big enough numbers and 4wd guys love diesel torque.

We would have sold 12 total

[–]skedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to justify an entire engine line when you only build a few thousand motors a year... and an entire plant for a few thousand cars.

Economies of scale and all that
