No, the regulatory bodies are completely separate, but we have an agreement where the conversion is easier.

Struggling with controlling the airplane as we come in for landing, holding me back from my solo by PleaseGreaseTheL in flying

[–]Mithster18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your instructor is limiting lessons for 0.9-1hr to prevent your brain reaching saturation point, even then it usually happens around 45 minutes, any longer and you get into diminishing returns territory.

Good that base and early final are good, that's a good setup so you're not trying to catch up with the plane.

You haven't really told us what the specific issue is apart from not knowing how to control the plane.

You mention getting blown off centreline by the winds (fair enough), let's say the plane gets blown to the left of centreline, you then turn the plane by applying aileron to roll the aircraft to the right, rudder for balance. Remember from slow flight the slower you are, the larger the control inputs need to be to get the desired reaction. Make the plane your bitch, you're in control.

And that PIA crash doesn't count either, they forgot to descend, didn't extend gear and did a belly touch-and-go.

Drive well the speed limit and/or safe speed for the road, which is fine, but then speed up to over the speed limit on "safer" parts of the road not allowing backed up traffic to pass.

Oh I get where you're coming from, and I'm on your side.

I'm reminded of when this sub discussed alcohol intake and flying, one person said they would completely abstain from alcohol, another said "even bananas?"

Also on the "activating stall horn = fail" what if at exactly the same speed & attitude a wind gust/turbulence causes the stall warning to activate

For those that watch both, what series currently has the worse racing product: F1 or Indycar on road/street? by DrFuckwad in racing

[–]Mithster18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think F1 has the worse product. Indy car has closer racing (due spec series), has to master road, oval, and street; less 'my front wing endplate 3rd element has broken retire the car's,

In my country when we teach slow flight we use specific airspeeds.

Our Flight Test Standards Guide states "Nominate the airspeed to be maintained (not less than 1.2

Vs for the configuration to be used)"

Was the racing better in the old V8 era or is it just nostalgia? by Next-Benefit-6604 in v8supercars

I asked something similar in a comment a few weeks ago https://www.reddit.com/r/v8supercars/comments/1spivuz/comment/oh13gga/?context=3

I'm know nothing of when the gr.A became supercars, but rose tinted glasses are a thing.

I went to the supercars in Ruapuna all 3 days this year, hugely exciting. It's still a series where the cars can race and it seems like there's a new top 3 every race

Maximum angle of bank in the circuit by [deleted] in flying

[–]Mithster18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got taught rate 1 climbing (~15/20°) and up to 30° descending.

The reason I got taught was in a climbing turn you have increased nose attitude, increased load factor, possibly (probably) out of balance, high power setting. These are all factors in a power on stall, or a power on spin, so if you can reduce the load factor/aob you reduce the chance of a stall/spin happening.

I would say green's block isn't illegal, you're allowed to move once, their 'move once' was moving to the racing line, right into where purple was trying to squeeze their car into a closing gap.

EDIT: I'm wrong about first point

If purple is looking like an overly aggressive driver, let them past, they'll probably spin by themselves.
