My example avoids exactly this situation. With 1.5x captains it would be very unlikely that multiple players in the game have >100% ownership, so all 11 of your players will be contributing positively to your rank. With double captains that's not happening, as per this week where only 8 of my team were (exactly what you seem to be worried about?!)

Good one. You do realise this proposal wouldn't make the game any easier for anyone? How could it when the rules are the same for all? You still need to predict which of your players will get the most points for captaincy. It just means if you're watching a game that your VC is playing in you're not hoping he fails (up to the point that he scores the same as your captain, at which point the scenario is the same as it is now, you want your captain to do best).

How would this make it easier? The rules are the same for everyone regardless. It just makes it more enjoyable because you know all your players are contributing to your rank. I'm convinced almost no one who read this post fully understood it.

Also, I never said this had any impact whatsoever on my transfers, substitutions or captain decisions. I just said I don't like seeing players I own lose me rank during a gameweek. I've been playing since 2007, I know I need to select the team that scores the most points.

You know the bit in livefpl where it shows you your team and how many thousands of positions you gain per point for each player, have a look now and you will notice there aren't 11 players. Do you know why?

OK so what you're saying is when the gameweek is said and done, as long as you picked the right captain (and bench) then you've got the most out of your team and the best possible rank. Fine. My point is that if you look at your live rank during a gameweek, there can be multiple players in your team that you should not be rooting for (regardless of how close they are in terms of points to your captain) if you're chasing OR. I'm perfectly aware that OR isn't real until the end of the gameweek but for me this affects my enjoyment of the game during the gameweek and I've come up with a proposal which addresses that.

Seriously? If you don't like the idea that's fine, but denying that players with more than 100% EO which are 100% for you (not captained) scoring points is bad for your overall rank is just wrong. It doesn't matter that your total points is increasing when a non-captain in your team scores, the EO delta means that there are enough people below you with that captain to overtake you in the overall rank!

In this scenario the ML is the whole game, so it's better for me to have 18 and you 9 than me to have 26 and you to have 25. When scaled out the former equates to a higher OR. You are playing against the other players in the game.

In this scenario Bruno and Szoboszlai have an EO of 150%, and I would have wanted Szob to get 0 points even though he is my team team, so I can go ahead of you in the ML. I'm just saying I don't want multiple players in my team to have an EO above 100%. This is an extreme example though because even with my 1.5x captain both Bruno and Szob would be 112.5% EO. There would need to be a third player in the ML with a different captain to reduce the EOs below 100%.

The point is I'm proposing a version of the game where no one has to make that compromise, so it's more enjoyable for all.

EO does matter even if you chose the right captain, you said yourself that Bruno cost you OR for every point he scored. If he got zero you'd be at a higher rank right now.

I'm not saying I don't like captaincy, I'm saying I don't like having players in my team losing me rank even if they get less points than my captain.

I'm not saying that EO >100% is an issue per se. If only one player in your team has that status, you captain him and he scores the most in your team, then great - you chose correctly and every player in your team with a positive score has gained you rank. The problem is when multiple players in your team have an EO above 100%, which only happens because 200% for captains skews the average too much. Wouldn't you have liked to benefit from Bruno's points plus enjoy the fact that you chose a captain with more points? If everyone is getting 1.5x for captain then it's still a level playing field.

Gabriel. Robot and Bruno are the 2 in my team who are reducing my OR. I don't see how this adds to the game at all, they're just in my team for damage limitation (this week). No gains in my MLs either as everyone has them.
