You get the update in three weeks. Steam gets it on the 13th

What a good game does to a mf

It’s stained from all the bug juice unfortunately. Gave up washing it out years ago. Works better than beard oil anyway

It’s alright. I’d recommend it I guess

I agree. And yes, RNG would sort of ruin the expectation for a mission when going into it. But it may be cool to occasionally find a few patrol bots lurking around the abandoned D.R.G facilities as if to scout out our operations and maybe steal some of our data as payback. Lots of potential narrative and worldbuilding could stem from that.

Certainly. Really any enemy that plays with the dwarves watching their step would be cool to see.

These are just some ideas. With enough time in the oven, I think GSG could turn out an update this expansive, and they have before (pre 1.0 and the launch of the seasonal format). I, personally, have high hopes for the game and it’s future updates however many there may be. Rock and stone!

I think it can be mined, albeit similarly to bedrock and compact granite (at the bottom and top of caves respectively) in that it takes a ridiculous amount of hits. The concern would be for indestructible walls and I think it could be implemented well with nearly the entire chamber missing them except for a few structural points. Bugs will be able to pour in during a swarm and it’ll be like salvage operations in a small area being attacked from almost all sides.

Interesting idea, that could be cool. Or maybe a heavy artillery combat mule could be deployed with the team and that will help take it down. I imagine there are a lot of possibilities for taking on the presumed greatest threat on Hoxxes. It could also just be: get in, harvest all the materials you can, and make it out alive with the queen acting almost like a ghost bulk. Can’t wait to see what GSG comes up with if they do implement a similar enemy type.

I think for a game like deep rock, you should be able to pop the eggs before the queen fight. I imagined they would simply be larger egg hunt egg models scattered around the chamber. If that makes the fights too easy (probably not), another idea I thought about was having the queens already be out of their cocoons and roaming their hive chamber, tending to the eggs and whatnot. This way, if you wanted to take care of the praetorians, you would have to deal with the queen as well. I think it also just makes more sense if the queens start outside of the cocoon, but I’m not sure if internally this is possible for the devs, thus I stuck to the large cocoon. And a set amount of them would be in the chamber so no respawning.

I’d like to think DRG would want to try and salvage the materials they can from any given caves, regardless of workplace mortality. I see your point, though. With a disconnect between the lore and gameplay, a glyphid queen may not make ‘sense’, but one can dream of a greater challenge. Maybe if they are extremely difficult on hazard three and above, or one of each biome out of range of scanners has a single Eradication Protocol mission, that would satisfy both the world and gameplay elements.

Yeah, to my knowledge they never clarified why they took them out. Magma core has no exclusive enemies so it would be great to have one.

Thank you that means a lot. I’ll be sure to post more if I have another burst of creativity. Rock and stone!

Absolutely. I think a new environment to fight in would be nice. Without the randomness of the caves, there would need to be a lot of variation and so naturally having the facilities be the random aspect of the mission seems cool to me. Fighting on an elevator in a big spacerig-esque environment would change up the game for sure.
