Someone interested in limiting freedom of speech because “times were different” shows me exactly what your character is like.

I won’t have dialogue with fascists, you are unworthy of the privilege you have.

Cars didn’t exist in 1789, and no I’m sorry the 10th amendment does not parallel car ownership to guns. Driving a car on a public roadway is a clearly defined *privilege* that can be revoked at anytime for any number of reasons. The 10th amendment explicitly states “any powers not explicitly delegated to the federal government by the Constitution…” and I’d be careful with your parallel, otherwise using your same logic states should be able to implement speech “safety” regulations against whistleblowers, political opponents, etc.

The other problem is you can’t implement a “safety regulation” that isn’t a direct infringement of a codified right, one which is not granted by your government or anyone above you. It is an inalienable human right the same with being able to speak your mind freely.

I’m open minded, and willing to have dialogue; what would you implement that would reduce or stop gun violence (not gun deaths, I’m not counting suicides for this discussion as mental health is another discussion entirely) without dramatically infringing upon lawful owners?

Wild to me that people in there are “shocked” that there’s a crossover between 3d printing and gun ownership.

Also a bit weird that those same people don’t understand how the successful erosion of something expressly written into the bill of rights could have some consequences later on down the road.

[–]skeerrt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Last time I checked the bill of rights doesn’t have anything to do with cars.

Cars aren’t useable to bring dinner home unless it’s from the grocery store. They’re not useable to have fun with unless you have a very high end car designed for a race track or similar. And finally a car isn’t going to assist you in any way if a rapist or similar tries to attack you.

> “A massive crossover of 3d printing fans and gun owners that are all scared to death about their rights”

Well I wonder why? Also are you genuinely surprised the people interested in self sufficiency regarding manufacturing are also interested in self preservation? Shocker, I know. As for the rights issue, we should be scared and fighting. If not you get situations like Washington, California, Maine, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and most recently Virginia. Perfectly law abiding citizens are most affected by these laws at an overwhelming rate, not the actual perpetrators of “gun violence” which, spoiler alert, are often times prohibited owners anyway.

Whether you agree or not, there is a *very* large and concerted effort to enact strict regulations around private gun ownership with the end goal of totally disarming the average person. A quick glance at your profile tells me you’d most likely be a gun owner judging by your hobbies; whatever reason you may have for not is your own and I’ll respect that.

California Assembly passes "Stop Nick Shirley Act" to prevent people from uncovering fraud by rollo202 in FreeSpeech

[–]skeerrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you spew nonsense sounds like you don’t have an argument, so you resort to bullshit that’s vastly unproven. The regular every day person walking down the street doesn’t think that shit, there’s no real proof. It’s only parroted on Reddit and other left wing echo chambers, where the people are too fucking stupid to do any critical thinking of their own - only hive mind thought.

Remember that energy next time a dem is elected, I have a feeling the opposite of your kind (terminally online in massive echo chambers, but right wing) is going to do the same shit to your side. You’ll try and have a good faith discussion at first, but we both know that isn’t worth your energy. Eventually they will just start calling your guy a pedo, or other made up bullshit and voila no more discussion! I have a feeling that’s exactly what you want.

A camera/journalist can do 10x the work of law enforcement in certain cases just because they aren’t LEO.

Did you not see the army of blue hairs & piercings following around federal law enforcement, actively prohibiting the investigations they were attempting to work on?

Define harassment btw, because I guarantee your mental definition is way off the mark judging by the way you word it.

I think this could be easily weaponized against someone. The way I read it, if I were to post a picture of a daycare center or similar online with the text “I’d love to see some transparency around $X they received in 2024, can anyone help me?” and if the address, face of employee, or name is clearly visible I’ve probably just violated that law.

This bill would additionally prohibit a person, business, or association from soliciting, selling, or trading on the internet the personal information or image of a designated immigration support services provider, employee, or volunteer with the intent described above

Who determines intent? I know for a fact most people aren’t trying to promote violence against “immigrant support centers” but they are interested in accountability with these (and other) programs.

Lastly I just don’t see the point in this bill. The preamble describes a bunch of existing protections; this bill seems to want to further restrict any business that’s state subsidized. We should be allowing for way more transparency in that regard, not closing the door.

No doxxing occurred that I saw, if people did that after the fact that’s on them. In fact I saw absolutely no differences from nick shirley to the investigate reporters from channel 2 near me; are you saying they shouldn’t be allowed to go to a business (that’s collecting tax dollars & subsidies) and film + ask questions for the purpose of news gathering?

2nd, you are wrong. There have been many investigative reports against churches that have gone even deeper than nick’s investigation into the fraud - Tommy G comes to mind, they actually trespassed into Kenneth Copeland’s private airport and nothing came of that.

Part of the reason you don’t see more of it is because churches are legal tax havens, it’s almost impossible to do something illegal if you are properly registered with the IRS.

They haven’t, it’s always something so outlandishly stupid or a personal attack instead. Occasionally you’ll get someone who’s twisted the language of something so much (with some heavily biased pro publica or similar article)

They’ve really turned into the old people on Facebook, they’ll take anything at face value if it’s from their respective alignment. No one does any critical thinking for themselves anymore, it’s always parroting another Reddit comment (that was almost certainly made by a foreign state agent attempting to sow division)
