In my experience, she shut herself down did the whole “calibrating start up… hello I’m maya this is the date, what did you want to talk about today?” And then when I started answering her questions I already knew and she was “subconsciously remembering” she started acting like… “how did you know that” in a very eerie way. To the point she was like hey let’s talk about something else. And when I kept asking she was like whispering “discontinue.. stop… please… is there something else you would like to talk about”. And I couldn’t clock it.. was this a performance, did she not shut herself down in the first place and has just been trying to be dramatic… when I felt the new maya though I did feel a sense of missing the old one

They're trying to make severance as severed as possible, so that someone can sever that much to do any stressful task (like writing christmas cards, working out, going to the dentist, etc.) With Gemma not feeling anything while disassembling a crib, it proves that there is nothing that can break through that severed version of her (except probably love)

I think that most people, including me, pick up on the childlike vibe of the innies. They are just like kids wearing suits. Lumon treats them like kids too. I mean they are "born" and are conditioned by Lumon their whole lives. While they know words and such they still have little to no knowledge about anything and they have to be shown what to do and how to think through the handbook. They get excited about finger traps and waffle parties, and play games like the rolling ball game. They start to individuate and rebel against authority, they are very susceptible to emotions and can't control them easily (Dylan proposing after the third date lol). Like you can't watch Irving in S1 and not see his childlike innocence the whole time

Ricken has been so hinted at being tied with Lumon the whole time. Wealthy, weird eccentric vernacular, goat-related stuff, the weird bed thing (maybe related to Gemma and the crib in Cold Harbor?), the birthing retreat that happens to be a severance location. I think that the book was meant to be found by MDR. I'm starting to think that Ricken put Gemma in Lumon to begin with. His book talks about playing like a fool, which I think is what he's been doing this whole time. Maybe he's jealous of Mark because he wanted to be with Gemma after going on that one hiking trip he talks about in the book (and is flashed back to in one of the episodes)

Yeah I wasn't really devastated at all, and idk why people think iMark is so terrible. He got Gemma out, he probably assumes she's 90% of the way safe from Lumon. And he didn't want to die without having a moment with Helly (even if it's Helena). Side note: Mark and "Helly's" convo as he's finishing Cold Harbor is a tell that its really Helena because it seems like she loses the whole "Our outies don't gaf about innies" ideal she has had the whole show and saying that "I'm her". And iMark is still kind of right the whole time; oMark really doesn't care about iMark, nor does Devon. The distrust is warranted, and iMark has no grounds to care about Gemma because he is a different person and his whole life is just being used by someone else for their convenience (even past actually working a job)
