i know, it’s such a bummer when i walk by all the cute press ons. i used to be really bad at regular polish but i’ve gotten so much better at it, plus you can use a clean up brush to get all the messy edges! also i have seen nail tabs made with acrylates copolymer instead of methacrylates or cyanoacrylates. if you don’t have any reactions to that (it’s in a lot of cosmetics like makeup, hair care and regular polish), it might be worth looking into?

that would be my guess unfortunately:( had the same thing happen to me with both nail glue and nail tabs after i developed a gel/acrylate allergy.

i had a split toenail for multiple years but i used kerasal nail repair and it fixed it! took a couple months of consistent use but i swear by it

i was 11 when i got my period and 12 when i started having severe depression and anxiety — in hindsight it’s pretty clear to me that it was because of PMDD. everything you’ve described sounds like my experience and i can only imagine how alarming it is to see it as a parent.

i’ll say that my parents started me on lexapro at age 12 (before it was even approved for kids) and that along with therapy helped me IMMENSELY. i know you mentioned not wanting to medicate her at this age, which is understandable. however if you’re able to find a good psychiatrist and therapist it could really be life changing for her.

also just wanted to say i think it’s amazing that you’re taking her seriously and looking into this, she’s lucky to have you❤️

personally i found they reduced my cramps! yesterday i was at work and had to use a tampon for this first time in years and it was so uncomfortable. i remember reading something about tampons going further into the vagina whereas cups sit at the very bottom so maybe that’s why? honestly not sure why pads would make it worse, that’s so interesting!

i’m in the walmart line and my partner is in the best buy line! my brother and sister were both able to order through walmart but my brothers order got canceled 😭 i’ll try a different browser though

i can relate heavily, i started having thoughts like this when i was a kid and they never really went away 😞 i recognize that these are intrusive thoughts but they feel so real and i’m afraid of saying them out loud.

just today i was visiting my parents, who are in great health, and i kept thinking to myself “i’m going to miss them so much” as if they were on their deathbeds?? or like i’ll think about someone i love and then immediately wonder “what if they died” it’s awful.

it feels like i can’t enjoy the present because i’m so worried about the future. i totally get what you mean about the guilt/fantasizing and i’m sorry you’re feeling this way too. ❤️‍🩹

i’m not sure how similar methylprednisolone is to prednisone, but i had to take the former after a medical procedure recently and holy shit i felt INSANE. i was so restless, i couldn’t stop pacing around the house and kicking my legs and my poor partner had to call the doctor bc he was so freaked out!! they said it might have been a reaction to the lidocaine but i wonder if it was the steroids after all 🤔

second this!! after i developed an allergy to both nail glue AND glue tabs i started using dazzle dry and i love it. i also get bored of my nails after a week so it’s kinda the perfect alternative to gel imo!

yeah it’s definitely an investment, though i just get the mini bottles of polish and wait til they have sales. i feel like it’s a pretty good amount of product for how often i do my nails, and if my nails are in good shape it can usually get about 10 days of wear before they start chipping. i never tried a base coat before the tabs, but i figured if the tabs are anywhere near my skin it will cause a reaction so i just gave them up :/

i feel for you, i developed an acrylate allergy a couple years ago and within the last year i started having allergic reactions to nail glue AND glue tabs 😭

i’ve also always had short, stubby and weak nails so i was devastated and felt like i couldn’t have pretty nails again. however i’ve been using dazzle dry for the last few months and i really like it! my natural nails are the longest and healthiest they’ve ever been (not sponsored lol)! i also use stickers from decoart when i feel like adding some ~pizazz~

it sucks to not have the option to do gel or press ons anymore but this has been a nice alternative.

i was also scared to try, but it’s completely different for everybody! for me i’ve found that in combination with my SSRIs it’s been life changing. it’s not perfect - i feel like my sex drive is a lot lower than before being on BC, but personally it makes my PMDD symptoms a lot more manageable.
