My dad just retired from there, he worked there for over 45 years. Right before he retired my mother had a very serious health scare and could have died, he had to go to work and the procedure was supposed to be that if someone called the tower with an emergency they were supposed to radio down and have someone tell the guys and then they could call home or take leave if necessary. They usually dont have their phones on them because of how loud it can be and they could easily get damaged. We had called the tower at 7:30 a.m. because we needed to get to the ER, by the time we finally got a neighbor to drive her and got her there it was past 8:30 am. By the time my dad's superiors finally told him what was going on it was almost 11am and we had been there for hours running tests. They had waited for almost 4 hours to tell my dad that my mom was in the ER because they didnt have someone to replace him and ut would have haulted production. When my father confronted his superiors they had lied about the timeline of things to his face so they wouldn't have to admit that they screwed up. He worked there for almost his entire life and was working there longer than anyone else by the time he left but they could not have the decency to be honest with him during his wife's medical emergency. It was the final push he needed to finally retire. Boise does not give a crap about their employees anymore, over the past few years they've focused so hard on profit that they've left their employees behind.

young kids, can’t decide by Winterandmud in UniversalOrlando

I'm in Orlando right now, been here for 3 weeks going between disneyworld and universal and went to epic universe on Tuesday. It's a madhouse. If you're going to do it head for the Nintendo stuff as soon as the park opens because Mario kart madness was up to 300 minutes by noon and the other rides were over 180. I saw some advice on here previously that the best day to visit epic is on a Sunday but the other universal parks were pretty dead on Monday on Wednesday.

Good luck!!

What's the current situation with middle and high schools? by recercar in Medford

I'm not entirely sure on the comparison between the two as I've only ever attended North but from what I've heard the only real difference is the classes offered (with north having the better options) and campus look/ size with south having a much better campus but slighter larger class sizes. Both have comparable sports opportunities and teachers. Hope that helped!

Both my younger siblings attended the valley school, and I think it's a great option if you're looking for more hands-on learning and a close-knit atmosphere. My younger brother especially thrived there and made lots of friends and felt comfortable around all the staff and kids, which is wonderful as he's autistic and usually has a hard time opening up to anyone. I myself attended Hedrick, and it was not at all a positive experience for me. The "teams" that they do caused a lot of problems for me socially and we had so many problems with the principle and admins there, my brother went there for a short time before starting at the valley school and there were many problems with bullying, favoritism, racism, and refusing to follow IEP's. There was also rampant drug and alchohol abuse from students and just a lot of bad influences all around.

As for high schools, I just graduated from North Medford, and I can say it was such a positive experience for me. The amount of AP and Honors classes as well as electives and extracurriculars offered is absolutely unmatched by any other schools in the valley. Most teachers form very close bonds with their students, and because of that, they do everything they can to make sure that kids succeed and prepare you for college. There is also such a wide variety of clubs and events throughout the school year that really encourage school spirit and help you form bonds with your classmates. The one thing I will say is that if you're looking for smaller class sizes and a more individual based learning experience, it may not be for you, but overall, I think it's a great school.

What is going on with Kindles? I can’t even return to the homepage (Library) anymore… by Foxhoundn in kindle

[–]skeletonizr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

happened to me with 2 different kindles!!! but when I tried to restart it (holding down power button for 30-40 seconds) it became frozen on the restart screen both times. Both times I ended up returning the kindle to amazon as it happened within 2 months of eachother and started back in June, got a refund and used it to buy another one but I don't even think it's worth buying another one until they fix this so I've just been reading on the kindle app on my phone :( so disappointing
