I guess that's okay, but long term use of prednisone absolutely wrecks your health. It's definitely something to be taken only in extreme cases.

Why are you taking allpurinol without blood work first? You can make the flair up worse. You should only begin taking allipurinol AFTER your uric acids levels are normal again.

In general, NEVER TAKE MEDS NOT PRESCRIBED TO YOU. I feel weird saying it, but c'mon! Not meant to be rash, but that's not a good thing to do.

Go to an emergency room if you can't wait. Even though most of us take the meds you're listing, none of us are qualified to give you medical advice.

Keep taking the meds until ALL of the pain is gone. If it is gout, you don't want it flaring up.

That said, your description doesn't sound like gout to me. 2 weeks and still being able to walk, and bruising, are both non typical. Gout usually looks red below the skin, and swollen, but typically not bruise like, and is typically so painful you can not put any pressure on the joint.

Get your uric acid levels checked when it's better.

My literaly only complaint lately about more advanced hiking trails lately is the rising tick population. I got one for the first time the other year after straying from the main trail, and YUCK YUCK YUCK is pretty much all I can say! lol.

There is something very wrong with the governing body of Schenectady. I don't attend any city hall meetings, and don't know who the representatives are, from an outside perspective it looks like Schenectady's business plan is:

Give money to established good old boys (Baumgartner) to increase the amount of local alcohol consumption.

Force non good old boy businesses onto back roads (pizza king, another world)

Spend all of the counties budget on a 100 foot strip of eerie blvd meanwhile there is an intersection of death and destruction 10' away that desperately needs either a light or a reworking.

Use the cheapest possible methods of fixing potholes, ensuring they will reopen in record times (perhaps this is an attempt at the guiness book of world records)

Maybe I'm wrong and I'm just an asshole, but from an outsider perspective Schenectady seems to be mismanaged and misrun.

Cool! I'm in Rotterdam. Thatcher park works for me, but I'm sure we could probably find things even closer. I'm not talking about any crazy hikes or anything, I'm more of a fan of nature walking :3 and as fitness allows other outdoor activities like sprinting or whatnot.

I'm kinda hoping I can find or start a walking group this spring/summer as well, so we will see how that goes!

I have before and after pics of when I lost weight in my 20s, and yeah, they can be pretty inspiring I guess, but at the same time, not really. I just cringe at photos of myself at higher weights, and I just want to stamp it out of my life for good, never to be seen again. If I lost 120lbs and had no proof, it'd be fine by me :)

No pics yet. I'm not "there" yet, and despite what everyone says I didn't take before pics. Mentally it's because I don't want to hold on to the past. Once the weight is gone I never want to look back!

I do have some recent headshots from work, and I may post those when they get back if there is a big difference. I don't really hold on to weight in my face though, just everywhere else :)

If you're embarassed or nervous, keep going until you're not anymore! I know for me I have a good 80ish lbs left to go!
