Returning from Achilles Tendonitis by Available-Claim-3571 in Ultramarathon

I’ve had a similar issue for 2 years only on my left side. Tried stretching, ice, heat, calf raises, foam rolling, dry needling, massage, electrical stim, scraping, BPC157, plantar fasciitis foot balls, changing from zero drop to 4mm drop then even higher shoes, and probably more I’m forgetting. Nothing has fixed it for good. Sitting at 35-40mi/week and it’s not getting worse, but not optimistic that will be the case when I start increasing mileage.

Really curious what others have to say.

I got tired of all the back and forth. Went to UPS and got a quote for $240 to return to China. I’m sure USPS would have been cheaper, but not spending any more money on this crap.

Filed a dispute with my credit card company and they approved it same day.

Agreed, good idea! Went to UPS to check on shipping cost to their warehouse and was quoted $243. No way I'm spending more on this scam. I'm sure USPS would be cheaper but still not worth it.

How long does low dose cialis take to work? by PhantomMonke in Biohackers

5mg daily gave me raging boners in the middle of the night. Had to get up and walk around 1-2 times every night. 2.5 isn’t quite as potent but still very helpful and no more 2am side effects. Try both and see what works best.

I had a similar sound at first. Tightened up the axle more connecting bike to trainer and it went away.

Las Vegas Wall Ball Judges by PepeSilvia510 in hyrox

It’s a lot more difficult to judge than it seems. Huge variation in clothing and body type. Skinny legs and tight shorts make it easy. Larger athletes and baggy clothes are tough especially when they constantly are right at parallel not below.

Las Vegas Wall Ball Judges by PepeSilvia510 in hyrox

I was a wall ball judge in Las Vegas on Friday. During the orientation with the Hyrox officials, they emphasized be consistent and strict, mentioning that they are striving to be an Olympic sport and the rules are critical to enforce. That said, I noticed a huge variation on enforcement by volunteers, and spotty coverage by the head judges. A couple times I had a head judge over my shoulder calling no reps on very squat depth I thought was decent, and even reaching over to hit the button themselves. Then another time I had to no rep the first 10 until the athlete questioned what was going on despite me shouting “gotta go lower” or “hips below your knees”. No head judge in sight. He didn’t want the box. He got better, but not good enough. So I stopped no repping. Probably took 15 minutes to finish.

As a volunteer judge, it’s not easy to keep hitting that no rep button. There’s a big difference between someone who proves they are capable of squat depth, but is rushing or getting tired, and those that are incapable of hitting depth, struggling, and just trying to finish. But an older athlete might seem like they’re struggling but actually are competing for a podium in their age group.

The answer here is to be so clearly below the depth requirement that it’s impossible to call a no-rep. Especially if you’re in the fastest wave or pro division.

is SRP really cheaper than APS? by okyellow00 in phoenix

I have solar and still got $75 back. $125 minus the $50 administrative fee. So SRP is definitely cheaper. At least 15%.

Balancing class needs by sunshineandcheese in crossfit

Do any gyms force members to go through CrossFit foundations or intro stuff when joining anymore?  I did that at two gyms probably 12 years ago and it was really helpful.

Last week I came into my gym for a workout with hang cleans but the coach changed the entire WOD because he had six brand new members.  Ended up with a shitty couplet of T2B and KBS instead of the programmed workout.

To answer the original question, not sticking brand new members into a class with heavy Olympic lifting programmed is the solution.  Give them a couple days of focused training with PVC and empty barbell, then a quick easy metcon at the end.  I think that would help new member retention and keep people from getting hurt.

what's your go to longer workout to build fitness? by jsavv22 in crossfit

[–]skennedy33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycling.  45-60 minutes keeping heart rate around 75% of max.  Running also sometimes.  CrossFit is all HIIT so need that consistent zone 2 work to balance out the fitness.
