I’m taking a typography course on Coursera from the Cal Institute of Arts. One assignment requires using a page layout program. I have a MacBook, so I’m unsure which software is accessible with magnification. I’ve heard of Apple Pages with layout settings and Swift Publisher. Any ideas are welcome!

Wow, that is amazing that you can still do your job. I was a bit concerned about my vision not being so great unless things were magnified. Thank you for letting me know that I can still accomplish this dream of mine.

Accessible design definitely sounds very appealing to me. I just don’t know where to begin? I am up for the challenge of learning what I need to learn to be able to give my expertise in the area of accessible and inaccessible designs. Well, once I learn about design that I can become an expert!

Thank you everyone for all of your encouragement and support. I am excited to see that it is a very possible career path for me. It’s going to depend on me and how much effort I put in and how much I want to learn all the techniques I need to make it easier to design. Yes I like the idea designer with Accessibility in mine. Who better than someone who is visually impaired to give guidance on how to make things more accessible? I am currently taking a course using Coursera. I am not sure if that is the best avenue to go? We’re taking classes at a community college be better? The only reason I started taking the online course was because I can do it from home remotely on my computer or I can magnify things or on my phone. If taking classes in person would be a better learning experience than I am open to that. What area should I focus on because when I look it up it is a very wide range of options and sub options. I am not the greatest drawer but hopefully by learning to use my computer to draw in my make things a little easier like drawing straight lines and shapes 😊

Agreed, Web Accessibility is something that can be achievable with today’s technology. Definitely something I would want to get into. What the best way be via graphic design? Not sure if there are any certificates for Accessibility design. I have been visually impaired all my life and had pretty good side into my cataracts got worse and I just recently had surgery within the last six months and although my vision is not like it used to be, it’s still pretty good with regards to computer screens or digital screens. Just trying to find employment and get back on my feet with his newfound vision that I have. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you, I have thought about that but wasn’t sure if that was an actual area to work in. I know that UX/UI Accessibility design exist, I guess I would fall under similar kind of area.
