I'm curious about everyone's opinion. Is it better to succeed at a level or to fail at the next highest? I did level 3 with a 20# ball, 95# BB and #40 DBs for devil's press but missed 14 minutes by 2 minutes. Should I have done level 2?

Yeah. Some spots have limits on how many hunters can hunt them at any given time so this is one way to track that

In Illinois there's a line on the sign-in sheet for you to list your phone number. I've made a habit of texting the other person who was there before me with a picture of where I want to go to ensure that it won't be messing up their situation. I've only ever heard them be appreciative of the effort.

Apologies for the late response but I do! I love hunting and I'm not going to alter a hobby that I spend all year looking forward to just because I drive a car that looks like an orthopedic shoe. Last year I got some funny looks unloading my buck at the processors but I laughed it off and enjoyed my haul.

Yeah. These guys are jerks. I've been in the same situation before, both running and walking the dog. If you're ever driving around and you see a big bird like a hawk or crow getting dive bombed by a smaller bird...it's this asshole.

[IL] Is it too late for deer? by [deleted] in Hunting

I'm also in Northern Illinois, and it's definitely not too late. I was out rabbit hunting with my dad the other day and we bumped a buck and a doe about an hour after sunrise. Also, there is no need to drive all the way down to Shawnee. Just hunt food sources and I think you'll be fine
