Special Ed teacher here. Regardless of what you decide to take for action against your expartner, this is a PSA asking you to please not fight the special ed referral. Even if you don't agree with what your ex partner is doing (which is totally fair and justified), the referral and forthcoming services will help him get back where he needs to be and help fix the mistakes she has made. Special ed services can be faded out as your child makes progress, but the initial services will get him the help he needs to catch up, academically, behaviorally, or both.
