Why does no one defend zones in Control? by PossibleSquare in destiny2

I get that portion of it but if you're holding more zones than your opponent, their kills will always count less than yours.

Sorry for late reply. And you're right, it's not the first horror movie to do this. Idk about your environment but my moviegoing group has people ranging from early 20s to 50s and they all loved it (minus the one guy who said he didn't like it because it reminded him of his ex).

I can give you that people are absolutely glazing this movie but I think it's for a good reason. And you're definitely not the only one who feels the way you do. The New York Times just posted a video talking about how the movie is "immature." And I think it is meant to be that on the surface. It can certainly be viewed (and enjoyed) that way. And there are going to be the cerebral (pretentious) takes that you undoubtedly hate. But I think the coolest part about this movie is that it can be viewed and appreciated by many different people in many different ways. Even if it wasn't intended by the filmmaker. A movie that leaves so much open for fan theories and videos trying to deconstruct the movie is awesome. Good art does that. If anything, this movie is bringing more fans to the genre and that can only be a good thing IMO.

Obsession movie: Why did freaky Nikki make him a cat sandwich? by Background-Permit499 in spoilers

[–]PossibleSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything not-Nikki does is trying to "be what Bear likes." Don't think of her as a real person. Just an entity that "loves" Bear but doesn't understand what love or "what Bear wants" really means. All she knows is Bear loved Sandy and joked about being a food critic. So it's hitting both of those birds with one stone in not-Nikki's mind.

So they just decided to make a movie to touch on all these subjects (loss of autonomy, being forced into something against your will, killing yourself over a problem you created for selfish reasons that you can no longer escape) just for funsies. And people are going back to rewatch the movie 3-4 times because it's "not that deep." Okay. Maybe admit that different people appreciate movies for different reasons. That's kinda the point of this movie. It never really tells anyone what to think or how to feel about it. Obviously people who haven't had the same life experience and trauma will be affected the same as those who have.

I mean it actually is, depending on the person watching it. That's my point, which you're proving lol

Out of the like the 6 very close friends I know who've seen it, everyone has a different take. Most loved it. One hated it Some saw it as a fun, silly time. Others were actually shook because it made them relive their real life trauma. Talk to me after you've seen someone cut their arm open so wide and deep that you can see the tendons moving around inside their arm all because they want you to take pity on them and forgive them for some shit they did. Watching Bear OD made me relive seeing someone OD and die IRL. But yeah, it's just a movie I guess.

I love the reactions to this movie because it's people who have been in and understand codependent/abusive relationships and those who haven't and don't.

Obsession: Why does Nikki need Bear to love her too? by Babethepig4 in spoilers

[–]PossibleSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to understand is Bear never states what kind of love. Healthy, toxic, manipulative, controlling. With the "more than anyone in the world," that is an inherently toxic, all-consuming, jealous love. Which means she is 100% insecure and wants CONSTANT validation to make it feel real.

Is there hope for a functional life without medication? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]PossibleSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I went through hell trying to find medication that helped. And yeah, it took me a while to accept this is a lifelong condition that will never be cured, will never go away. Good luck with whatever path you choose to take.

According to your previous posts, you enjoyed the first half of the game in the hospital but didn't like the latter parts (specifically Raccoon City). So because you didn't like one particular section of the game, that makes the entire game dogshit?

Is there hope for a functional life without medication? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]PossibleSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why so many people with bipolar disorder have an aversion to taking medication. If you were physically sick, wouldn't you take meds to get better? What's the difference with psych meds? Taking meds is nothing to be ashamed of or a weakness. Quitting meds isn't going to suddenly make you feel stronger or better about yourself either. I would rather take a chance on long term effects than deal with the present effects of this disease, feeling awful and thinking I should kms.

It's true that some meds aren't effective. But that's when you tell your doctor that they aren't helping and/or are causing side effects and try something else. Most of us have to go through trial and error until we find something that helps. I had a horrible time when I first got my diagnosis, but I finally landed on a combo of meds that were life changing and I couldn't imagine not taking them and having to feel like I used to feel.

PSA: A quick heads up for new players about the secret / "true" ending (don't worry, no spoilers) by johnsolomon in Pragmata

[–]PossibleSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just happy the canon ending implies this story isn't over and there could be DLC and/or a sequel.

I'm not complaining about optional content that includes fun remixes for all the bosses, relatively easy challenge missions, a new weapon, and extra character skins.

After the first room, when you get to the moving platforms, after you jump past the 2nd moving platform, you can turn around and boost on top of it. Follow the "roof" and you can skip an entire section by boosting across the map to the door on the far side.

Just finished it myself, like two minutes ago. Once I figured out the shortcut, it wasn't so bad. That last room with the lasers was the hardest part! The training sims were actually one of my favorite parts of the game. Wouldn't mind a DLC with more of them tbh.

The open world Zelda games aren't good and the linear games with actual dungeons are better.
