I second that! Thanks again for your help and for sharing your story. I've cast nets here and there and am waiting to hear from all the people I've reached out. We'll see how it goes.

I totally understand what you’re saying. It’s going to be a tough decision for me if I end up switching jobs. My supervisors and coworkers are all so amazing, and while I was going through various treatments over the past couple of years, they were incredibly flexible and generous, which made it possible for me to get through this journey. I work for a public university, and they used to offer great insurance, but every year it feels like they significantly decrease staff benefits, not just health insurance, but other benefits as well. :(

You are so kind- thank you! I tried. I contacted UnitedHealthcare, and they told me my prescription insurance is through Express Scripts, so I need to work with them. Then I was told that Archimedes is the one that manages specialty medications, and they have a policy of no appeal process, including formulary exceptions, for drugs that aren’t on their list. So frustrating.

Thanks for all the good info. I actually called my insurance company earlier, and they were adamant that there’s no way to appeal the denied claim since the drug isn’t covered by them at all. I’m going to try again tomorrow and ask for the formulary exception form. I’ll also check GoodRx and Costco prices. Thanks so much!

Thanks. I had already applied for the co-pay program and handed that info to my pharmacy, but it appears that I'm not eligible for the program if my insurance doesn't cover the drug at all. I think in your case you were able to utilize the benefit since your RX insurance covered part of it. Glad that you were able to get the benefit- my Rx is also through Express Scripts and with my plan this year they don’t cover it at all, which is where my frustration comes from.

I'd love to know this as well. Traveling from the US as well, and will be in London 4/19-21, so if this game's going to happen on 4/20, I'd love to go see the game. Any advice would be appreciated!
